Greenhouse ready for the winter

Although we still had quite a few tomato fruits left, they were starting to go mouldy before ripening, so I decided to cut my losses today.

It was a good drying day, so I removed everything and disposed of the tomato plants. Then I sprayed the interior glass and benches with dilute bleach and gave it all a good scrub.

A blast inside and out with the power-washer completed the cleaning, and I put everything back in, including the scented leaf pelargoniums, the potting bench, the heater and my little chair.

Now it’s all tidy and clean and ready to provide me with a place to go and get some ‘rays’ in the winter time. I have some spring bedding seedlings in there and some cuttings etc. and the cold frame is also full of spring bedding plants etc.

Lots of lovely colour and scent in there now. :)

Looks like it's catching Karen, I have been doing pretty much the same myself today, although my little leanto greenhouse isn't quite as grand as yours. I'm now looking forward sowing seed in there in the spring :)

Very neat, tidy and productive. I too have a bag full of tomatoes so will have to get myself in gear to make some sauce.

Lol...i'm shattered! We've been away from the n Edinburgh overnight...loads of eating, drinking and chatting with friends. Then came home this afternoon and mowed, fertilised and watered the lawn. I'm as stiff as boards now!

All ready for winter then Karen, have to admit both mine always looks like a work in progress even when I have removed spent toms and cucumbers, have made a start and put my succulents inside and some of the fuschia's, geraniums will be next on the agenda, its small steps at a time for me , lol.... I still haven't made room for for table and a chair in the bottom house yet...

You definitely need to get a chair in there for magazine browsing and catching the rays in winter LL!
