For Lincslass!

Now, I know you’re struggling to sit still, while recuperating from your recent surgery, so here’s something to keep you occupied for a couple of minutes.

This evening the wind dropped a lot and the sun came out for a while and I had spotted a field of flowers on the way to the village, so OH drove me down there (I’d had a large glass of wine with my dinner…as you do) to get some shots of it before it’s too late.

I had no idea what was in the field until I got up close.

All I had seen was a haze of lilac and yellow…

And beside it, a drift of Rosebay Willowherb in the verge..

But as I got closer to the field I could see that the Farmer has sown Phacelia in there….a manure crop. I wonder if the Oil Seed Rape has just self-seeded from last year. I don’t know, but it certainly looks beautiful! And the odd white daisy for highlights…

There you go…a bit of nature for you! Now….relax….!

How lovely is that? It does your heart good just to see it.

Ah bless your heart Karen, it is a beautiful sight and I do appreciate you giving me something new to read and admire, you really did pick a smashing area to live in and it seems to start right at your hedgerow, how could one not be happy there.
I've been looking back at the older blogs, so many members no longer around, also been amusing myself on the questions pages, I've always said they can be the best place to be if one is bored, I know it might be my sense of humour and not appeal to others but we used to have some right ole dingdongs on there, lol...

Hmm..so true! Occasionally I dare to comment, but its always with trepidation. Rain and fog here this morning.

Didn't we just Lincs😈

And those of Floribunda's that just ran and ran until they wouldn't load!
happy days....wonder if they're still there?
If you find them you could maybe add a comment .......that should wake us up

she's well by the way our Flori, we chat often x

I do love your farmers field Karen, think of how happy its made the bees.....

I am the same Karen, I often answer then delete in case I get told off, I mainly answer if its one I want to follow and therefore easier to keep track of.
We have a blustery wind and sunshine today, rain earlier, good growing weather..

Pam thanks for the nudge, I just found a blog that I had missed, Flori's last one actually, very entertaining as usual, I'm glad to hear she is well..

I can remember some very definite opinions being expressed when I first joined! Has everyone mellowed, do you think? (I'm rather with you, Karen - I used to read and gape!!!)

I learned to be very careful when answering questions ...

lol! What are we all like? We know what we're talking about, we are all experienced growers.....and yet we allow one or two to scare us off! lol! Well, I want you all to know that I value other people's (your) opinions and eperiences, and I don't need to be an 'expert' or a 'Guru' at anything :)

Melchi I think its the fact that many of us have been around so long that we understand the manner in which people write as regards their response, we probably are more patient now and do recognize sarcasm and tongue in cheek comments without getting upset by them..LOL..I do know that often the queries get an abrupt response at first but then often turn into a very good discussion as members ideas are bandied back and forth...

I've just been on and added a few comments! ;) I was feeling particularly brave after my comment above! I shall probably now make a hasty retreat! lol!

You do make me laugh Karen..

...the best medicine! ;) x

Come on ladies, take the plunge and start answering more - why not share all the experience and knowlege you've amassed with other people? It doesn't really matter if somebody contradicts you now and again does it? I've often thought it was a pity you stuck mainly to the blogs pages. I've been sticking my neck out on here for ages and nobody's ever been nasty to me - and we've had some good chuckles now and again too. You'd surely get a kick out of helping a new gardener to get going?

Anyway what I started to say was what a lovely field of flowers - even if it was a very happy accident.

19 Jul, 2015

Ho ho! Perhaps we're starting something again
(or perhaps we'll retreat into our shells like the reviled snail! πŸ˜‰)

By the way, nobody was ever nasty to me either! I am a bit in awe, though ...

19 Jul, 2015

Oh I'm not bothered by someone contradicting me Stera, as I already said we all have different ways and ideas, I follow the questions pages every day and know who will usually be there giving out the answers, I have also noticed over the years that some of the members on there rarely participate in the blog pages but one can always find them on the questions pages so we know they are still with us, actually it seems to work well, I often tell people to go on there and even who to ask for as I've noticed others doing the same thing..

19 Jul, 2015

I also keep up with the questions pages, Lincslass. I think they are brilliant and often very interesting. It's definitely the go-to place for any queries. Just think of the hundreds of people who have had advice and suggestions from GoY members!

20 Jul, 2015

I enjoy the questions pages as well, if I think I know I sometimes cheat and check with google first but if its something simple like blossom end rot on toms then I answer because I have had it too....
only this week on a new variety πŸ˜•

if I'm not sure then I say so, or 'I wonder if?'......
or "maybe it could be?"

Bamboo is brillant, so knowledgeable, Moongrower and Bulbaholic too know so much between them....Dr Bob is rarely on, think he's still a member....

I just tried to use the search box but whatever I put in just got a blank page?.....very odd

20 Jul, 2015

Hi Pam my searchbox is not working either, I queried a plant and a member, got same as you, completely blank, I know for a fact that it was working yesterday as I used it a lot, I was having a painful day, its surprising what you check to try and keep occupied whilst sitting about, lol..

20 Jul, 2015

HOpe today is a little better LL? We have had a few gremlins lately...I keep getting those "oops, looks like something isn't quite right" messages on my catalogue pages, but nothing too distressing, so didn't bother reporting.

20 Jul, 2015

I get that one sometimes as well Karen, as you say not too bad but can be frustrating if one is halfway through a blog and it doesn't put it into saved drafts..I have checked again and my search box is working again now.
I feel a lot more comfortable today Karen, thankyou, think its because its knitting together and pulling as its healing, they told me this time would be more painful and also take longer to heal and its only been a week, I'm a toughie and will get through, at least I haven't thrown any hissy fits yet, lol....

20 Jul, 2015

Ah...I see. Good for you...stay positive. One day at a time! :) x

20 Jul, 2015

21 Jul, 2015

21 Jul, 2015

Yes Pam I commented when I saw it, our baby always turns up when something is going astray and yesterday it was the searchbox, lol..Really should change the avatar, that baby is a lot older now..

21 Jul, 2015

lol...

21 Jul, 2015

You're right Sue it does doesn't it.....maybe its really a gremlin.....

21 Jul, 2015
