Whoop! It's SUMMER!

Been outside all day, working. Mostly weeding and planting the perennials I’ve grown from seed this spring (mostly Dianthus and Aquilegias and a few Digitalis).

The difference between yesterday and today….unbelieveable! What strange weather we’re having eh?

Throught the Living Room Window..Still think I am the luckiest lady alive!

A moment of solitude and contemplation..

Heuchera Corner….It’s coming on well, but I’ve split a Carex oshimensis ‘Everest’ and used it to add a contrasting texture. I think it will work once the grasses grow a bit.

In a planter, there’s a whole mini-garden going on…

And my first Clematis bloom is one of the very best…Niobe

And the Golden Border is also giving plenty of Zing!

Hope you have also been gardening in your vest today instead of your woolies! :)) Karen

Lovely to see your garden in the sunshine, it is filling out nicely and colourful after your long wait. Love Heuchera corner.
I am luck enough to have been gardening in my shorts for at least a fortnight, but the knees get dirty.

Ach, dirty knees? sign of a healthy and fit gardener! :)) I'd better get in the bath...I'm a bit pongy!

Ah Karen who wouldn`t feel lucky with a view like that but you`ve made the most of your plot with some lovely planting and I just love that pond. I think the carex grass has woven your heuchera corner together nicely. Your Niobe is doing well mine is still in bud. I was hoping to get some of my Dahlia in today we have had sunshine but also heavy showers and the wind has been bitter so hope to get them out tomorrow as we are promised a warm sunny day.

Yes, u certainly have lovely views Karen.
I went out this morning to buy a water butt and ended up buying some plants as well. I wanted some Calamagrostis Karl Foerster but wasn't going to buy any yet but couldn't resist 4x 3 litre pot grasses for £20.00 So, two Cal. K.F. And two bronze Carex (not Comans bronze or Buccanii...can't think of the name now), they will go nicely alongside the red Acer. I shall go and buy one more of each and a couple Stipa Tennuissimas in a week or 2 ....4 for £20 was excellent .Not seen grasses this size for less than 7.99 and some a lot more! I did buy some grit to dig into the borders so not all naughty! And a Water butt, but. By the time I got home it was hammering down so I went out and set it up behind the greenhouse. Got soaked but didn't want to miss harvesting the rain as it's been so dry here! It rained for about 3 hours. So, you got the better of the weather for a change....but we needed the rain.Well, I did or I'd have no lawns to mow next week..they'd started going brown!

What a difference a day makes!

I love that view from your window and I like the idea of a mini garden in a planter - food for thought!

Do you think we dare hope for two nice consecutive days?!

I doubt theres much chance of that Chris...not for us anyway. Apart from the weather, a sudden warm day like today almost always results in a 'Har' the following day.

Fabulous view through that window Karen. Love the Heucheras too :o)

We had cloud this morning and rain at lunchtime and then sunshine and clouds all afternoon. Cricket was on as they didn't get the rain at Everton. I went to help Sam do some unpacking at her new place and it tipped it down. ON the upside we found a coffee shop just around the corner with chocolate orange sweet and lovely latte coffee. Yum yum we did do the unpacking for the kitchen. lol.

Your garden is looking so good. What a difference the sunshine makes but it is SUMMER tomorrow. Get out your shorts and Enjoy!!

It all looks gorgeous, Karen. I love the rainbow of heucheras! And the golden bed is looking good too. So glad to hear you have finally had some good weather. We had sun from about 3, but with no sun at all for the last few days, it's been quite cold indoors. But the plants don't seem to mind - the roses are coming out, the honeysuckle is fantastic this year, and the containers are beginning to take off. I'm just hoping and praying for a bit more sunshine for me 😐 !

I could gaze at that view for hours Karen, the garden is looking great as well, I love the Heuchera corner, the weather is not exactly summery here either, we did get some rain yesterday but certainly not enough, it seems to be going around our town and what we are having is drying out before it has chance to do any good, no way will my shorts be making an appearance today either...

The weather hasn't really been what you could call summer here (sigh) I'm glad you've had a day which felt like summer and that you made the most of it. Your garden looks wonderful :)

At least an inch of rain today! It was bouncing off my patio like hail! But not complaining as it was proper straight down summer rain, not horizontal rain like we had in May!

21 Jun, 2015

It drizzled most of the day on Saturday so I repainted and distressed my gothic garden mirrors in the garage. Yesterday was back to cold and windy on the longest day, very disappointing :o(
You have a lovely view Karen.

No Karen ...no vest ! Boo ! Cold and wet here ! We have had some dry days , but nothing like a summers day as I'm having to wear jumpers again ! The view from your window is beautiful and yes...you are one very lucky lady !
