At last! The garden is growing!

In spite of the continuing bitter winds, the garden has decided to just go for it! Everything is budding up and Rhodies are still coming in to flower. The Roses have lots of buds and even a few clematis buds. The salad and veg are romping away, and I even have two baby yellow courgettes and a few flowers on the toms! What a lovely time of year and just when I was beginning to feel that nothing would happen this year…off it goes! A few photos..don’t be fooled by the sunshine…it’s freeeeeeezing out there! Hat, coat and scarf required.

I know, it’s still not exactly a blaze of colour…but I need to learn patience. This garden is a year old and it needs time to grow and mature. And it will be a blaze of colour in July, and again in September, I promise! :))

Karen, I think you have worked wonders in a year with your garden. Not forgetting input from Scott too! Sorry the weather is not too good for you, we actually ate our lunch out in the summerhouse today, with the doors open. Get thee in the greenhouse and potter away :o)

grey day down here but no wind today, which is a huge change. Sick of all the wind we have had, its been more like April not May and I do so love May usually. The garden looks lovely Karen, that golden border is going to be amazing once it has matured. Found a red rose out today Pauls Scarlet or is it Crimson lol. but it lights up the archway and it is only tiny, what a star to see it shining through.

Thanks everyone. Cold and wet today but not so windy. At least everything is being watered. Set to be wet every afternoon until Monday at least I think now. It matches my mood. I'm feeling sad as today we took Callum, our son to the Airport as he is going to Colorado for the summer again. I will miss him. We have a very similar nature and get on really well, even when we have words there is a lot of love between us. So, I'm feeling sad....never mind...it will pass. At least he is doing what he wants to do.

Can you Skype? Not the same I know but makes the miles seem less, is he on a ranch there?.......

27 May, 2015

Yes, Cheley Camp. Not much time for Skyping usually. But we might get one or two sessions. thank you.

It looks very good, Karen, and the perennials will grow a lot in the next couple of years. In the meantime, it's beautiful!

Thanks everyone. Sunny morning, cold, windy. I cant see any change in the forecast. I fear a repeat of 2007 may be on the cards. But you just never know do you? It could all change mid June. Lets hope for the best!
