Contrasts....

I didn’t take a lot of photos on our holiday, so for something a bit different, I’ve combined some photos of home at Christmas time, our holiday and the garden on our return. Hope you will see that there is great beauty in both places and in both hot and cold climates!

Like the photos, such contrasts.....the evening one with the lights is very effective

Beautiful photos, Karen, of both places. I bet you had a lovely time, but now you're home again you'll be seeing it through fresh eyes. I love going away, but I love the new perspective I get when I come home. And now there's Spring to look forward to. Not too far away, I hope!

Lovely to see a little of both worlds here.

The rising moon photo looks so peaceful and the winter orchids in the snow are so very lovely - they miss out on a sight like that in Antigua!!

Nice blog Karen. Particularly like the Caribbean moonlight. I see you have some of the "white stuff", I've managed to avoid it so far, but looking over the river Dee, I can see it on top the Welsh hills.

No Steve, we weren't delayed. You've reminded me of when we went on our Honeymoon to St Lucia with the long defunct BWIA. The inside of the aircraft had rainforest paint job....it broke down and we were diverted to Trinidad & Tobago. There we arrived at a....shack. Their airport was a tin shack! Then we sat on the floor of the 'Terminal' for two hours while a man in nothing but a pair of shorts tried to fix the plane with a spanner. We could see smoke coming out of the cockpit! Then....the most unbelievable part....we got BACK on the same plane and flew to our destination! Lol! I should have given up on flying right then!! Lol!

Welcome back to Scotland Karen. I love the contrast pictures. I bet you wish you could have packed a bit of that sunshine and brought it back with you!

hi Teds! Sorry, I don't know the name of the bird, but they would climb right down inside the glass to get milk or whatever was in it!

Waddy, if the wind would just drop a little!

Not a chance BA. :)

A tropical paradise is ok for a holiday, but don't think I'd want to live there. Same all seasons, no variation, no autumn gold, no spring anticipation of bulbs coming up. lol even heaven can get a bit monotonous!

...and are there tarantulas and snakes in heaven Fran?!

19 Jan, 2015

that too, lol. and hurricanes

19 Jan, 2015

...and drought....and mosquitoes.....yup, definitely not heaven, but very beautiful nonetheless.
