Scruffy corner no more!

I carried the ‘circular’ line around from the Golden Border, past the Cooking Apple tree and over to the raised borders. Less turf to mow, less weeds as well. It makes the bottom garden much nicer to be in and is planted up with plants that were already in the garden, two of which (Buddleja ‘Nanho Blue’ and a pink flowering Hebe) are from cuttings I took when I moved in and removed the originals as they were in the wrong place or were overgrown. I also used several of my ‘Free’ Gardeners World offer Hardy Fuchsias, a Hosta which was in the Golden Border Area and my lovely Iris Sibirica ‘Lavendelwein’. Today I bought two little Astilbe chinensis ‘Pumila’ to finish off the effect. Oh, and of course I moved my climbing miniature Rose ‘Bridge of Sighs’ which was in a pot. The bird bath makes a nice feature.

This is how it was in February, before the weeds started growing!

And this is how it is now!

Very good K, it is quite difficult to create a garden in country setting such as yours, we visited a NGS country garden the other week, which took my breath away, will post when I have more time, just nipping in and out between keeping the garden up to scratch....for the 21st.

Lincs never mind Gandalph, you've got gremlins :) Be careful not to feed them after midnight, imagine what might happen ;)
Nice that you've continued the curve right round, they will merge seamlessly I think.

Doesn't it set off that apple tree too :O) Thought of you when I was browsing for some solar lights they had solar fairy lights, individual fairies with a solar light, very pretty you could have a hobbit hill and a fairy dell on those mounds :O)

You are really transforming your new garden and it is really lovely and is taking shape beautifully.
A lot of thought has gone into it and it shows.

What a difference in just a few short months. I think it's now perfect for a hobbit family :)

I know, I know, we need a hObbit Hill.....give me a chance! Lol!

Annie, yes, didn't have any other way to dispose of the turf. It will settle down in time, but it's a good barrier against the nettles and sticky willie from the field for now!

Oh that looks so much better now. Really sets off the apple tree nicely. Looking forward to seeing it mature (hint hint hint lol).

Agree with the others a hobbit hill is a must. I loved your pond and hobbit hill at the old place.
