A little treat

2 loads of washing done, spuds peeled, stuff the ironing, took myself off to the Garden Centre, a very good one in my opinion.
Being new to gardening I have already discovered plants that float my boat.
One such plant is Crocosmia, I love the way it grows arching over with lovely bright flowers and rich green leaves. Not only that it is easy to grow needs little care and will spread.
Anyway wandering round the garden centre I spotted some Crocs I had not seen before, a lovely yellow flowered one, “Jennine” and a red/deep orange one “Joey Hoey”
Well I had to get them didn’t I ?
Anyway it was a birthday treat to myself, my birthday is not untill November, but by then it would be to late to get them in the garden.
A cunning piece of forward planning in my book.lol

Crocosmia are very easy plants to grow - beware though, they can be invasive!

I love the way you said 'stuff the ironing' - my sentiments exactly. (The only thing is it's still there later, waiting for you.) lol

Crocosmias are great plants CC, but as Sheilar says they can go walkabout! They are easy enough to dig out and put into clumps though, but it's easy to forget to keep on top of them!

I am also a fan, they can get out of hand but are easy to remove if and when neccessary. I find them great for the areas where I have hardly any soil, near my fence posts for instance, also in the dogs run, anything in there has to bounce back on a regular basis....

I quite like crocosmia, so good buy. As has been said already, keep an eye on them.

As I am a little disabled all my plants are in pots or containers, saves on digging and weeding.

My Crocs are in large containers so spreading will not be a problem.

My son has been showing me how to upload photos, so once I get the hang of it I will post some. ( it seems like witchcraft to me) Lol

That'll make it easier for you, the crocosmia being in pots.

You'll soon get the hang of this "witchcraft" (LOL) and we look forward to seeing your photos.

Welcome to GoY.
