How I Grew My Tulips From The Seed

Growing tulips from seeds….

Tulips are a beautiful edition to one’s garden however many prefer not to grow tulips from the seed due the effort. I have been growing tulips for years from the seed. Althought it can be effortful, I personally find it quite stress releiving as I jusy keep reminding myself how pretty they’ll look once grown!

It took me years to actually be able to grow a successful bunch of tulips as certain variables must be controlled, such as temperature, my neighbour who is obsessed with flowers told me she read that you grow them in a cold frame, using light and they should be sheltered from harsh or intense winds. They should be grown in sandy soil at around Febuary time, expecting seedlings at around March.
the following Autumn finally arrives, you may remove the plants from the cold frame and plant them outside on light, rich soil. When the plant is around 4-6 years old you should expect flowers, howeve, if this is too long a wait, you could probably purchase some sort of fertiliser to speed up the growth. My tulips took 4 and a half years to grow but it was worth it!

Hope this was helpful. Thanks for reading. Please comment any advice!

Thanks! And yes patience is the key to great tulips! I'm planning on posting some pictures of my tulips to give other less patient gardners some inspiration :)
