I know the feeling well. Two years ago I laid a patio on my own and I was like a dog with two tails ! lol

and I thought I had done good painting some garden furniture, which is still not finished cos I ran out of paint. lol. That looks really good, what a great design idea, you have done a great job. When are you available I could do with a new path. lol.

Hi Oliveoil, I am sure you did well with your painting as well. I have to wait till I suddenly get a burst of energy these days and it sometimes takes quite a while .... but I got on with it first thing in the morning when energy is at its highest. Shattered for the rest of the day. Would love to do your path but you live a little bit far away for me. Lol :o)))

wow, that's a difference! brightens the area up no end - so long as it's not too much in direct sun, or you'll have to wear shades to look at it!

I agree Hywel, these have served several different makeovers, I think they are marble, and very old.

There's something intensely satisfying about doing it all oneself: thinking up the idea, working out how to do it, then doing it - and getting such a great result. Rich people may have more ornate gardens, but they pay someone else to do the work, they'll never have that inner glow that comes from total DIY.

I agree Fran. Just wish I had the energy to do more.

lol you do what you can, and find that you can do more than you thought you could! it's just starting that's the hard bit - well, and paying for it the next day with aches and pains.

I've been out in the garden almost every day for the past week - taken me months to summon the energy or the will, but once I'd started, didn't want to lose the momentum. allowed myself a day off yesterday, mainly cos I was walking round like Quasimodo! But seeing that I've done so much makes me want to go and do more.

Self-perpetuating cycle? the more you do, the more you want to do, and the more you can do. within sensible limits, of course!
