Yes, I would not cage a budgie which had previously been used to free flight in an aviary ... Fortunately my budgie "Crocus" absolutely loves his cage .. on which I fix an "extension" for his toys ..Lol....

I've added this to GoYpedia Pets in the Garden ...

Yes we did miss them Sandra, and often think about it and sometimes wish I still had them, and yes that was me a long time ago of course.

Aren't they lovely. Know what you mean about having them in an aviary and not a cage.

We had a lovely selection of colours, and that was one of the fascinating things, putting two birds together in a breeding box and getting all different colours from it.

Great blog, shame you had to give it up.. I have two budgies and although they create a mess and a lot of cleaning i let them out of the cage from first thing in the morning till whenever they decide to go back in, otherwise i feel guilty.. I'd love to build an aviary so maybe i might be back to ask you for some tips in the spring.
