I have a large garden, about 1/2 acre in all, in Cambridgeshire, previously unloved but now my project! Over the coming months I am building a fernery,winter garden, rose garden, pond (possibly), wildlife area, some raised beds for veg, (there are 3 overgrown and space for 3 more) a cutting patch for house flowers and a fruit cage. I'm also deepening the borders, currently really just shrubbed, to about 2.5 metres. There are many lovely specimen trees and shrubs, including a fine gum, ginko, twisted willow and mature cherry with a lovely canopy. But almost no perennials, bulbs or other flowering plants - so I have my work cut out. We have frogs, bats and owls together with many other native birds which I hope to help.
