About me

Hello fellow gardeners, we have just moved to coastal Essex from the south coast and have a 150ft garden. Recently have installed a 12 x 8 greenhouse in which this year I'll be growing 3 types of toms, sweet peppers, baby cucumbers, aubergines and am going to try a melon! I enjoy growing veg and will be planting peas, beans, kale and broccoli soon. Also salad stuff in raised beds at the side of the house. I love to grow flowers and each year sow far too many - can you have too many? I really love delphiniums and intend to grow quite a few in the border along with the old favourites such as hollyhock Peaches & Dreams, white foxgloves, cosmos etc. Another favourite is fuchsias and dahlias - mainly I think because my dad always grew superb specimens, wish I could grow the big incurved chrysanths like he did. Maybe I'll give it another try. Would also like to grow an auricula theatre. There are a lots of trees in in the garden a silver birch, twisted willow, ash, hawthorn etc. Good for hanging the bird feeders in and plenty of hedgerow and ivy for them to nest in.
