Hello. Looks very much like Cosmos.
You should really add to Gardening Questions section as opposed to creating a blog :)

Thank you so much. I want to have it again next year. I don't think it is hardy- it would be lovely if it were, but never mind especially as I am not the one to do the planting any more as I a m knocking on now so I really only do the deadheading and the odd bit of weeding. Sad but that's life and I have been a very lucky bunny indeed.
I usually grow them each spring for summer planting. I lose them over winter and they never seem to seed down. I must grow shorter ones next time though as mine are about 4feet tall. Love them, have them dotted all over to give splashes if colour. Nice that you can potter and still enjoy the garden.
I have just been talking about the shorter Cosmos ... pretty sure the ones I grew from seed were Sonata series ... about 24" tall in white and shades of pink.
Thanks Shirley, I will look out for those as mine are too tall for where they are planted this year.
Da and Breda, would you like me to save some seed for you both?

I planted both, the short and the tall, however because of the overhanging tree they are vying with each other to reach the light and therefore not much difference in height, I love them...
The song "Bless 'em all, bless 'em all, the long and the short and the tall" came to mind when I read your comment Sue! I love Cosmos too as they are a favourite with the Bees.
Thanks from all you lovely people. Goy members really are wonderful and so friendly. Sorry I have been away so long but it's lovely to be back. And yes I would love some Cosmos seeds. X
Awww Breda, nice to have you back too.
Shirley, I would love some seed please, that is very kind of you. Thanks :-)
Ladies, I have set a reminder to save seed. :o))
