Lovely trees on dog walk in April 2009

I had a camera as a birthday present in March, I’m no good with cameras but I don’t have to do anything really but point and shoot although to be honest, even that took me a while to master! Anyhoo…I found lots of lovely trees to photograph on my dog walks and I hope you won’t be too bored if you take a look. they were all taken in April.

This is the road we walk down to the fields it’s called Hobs Hole lane!!! This is a beautiful sycamore in the front garden of the first house, which incidentally, I would like to swap for mine :-)

This is the canopy of the sycamore. It really is the most beautiful sight at this time of year, the sort of thing people stop to look at. This photo doesn’t do it justice, I have a better one but I don’t know how to swap it.

This is the blossom of a smallish sycamore type tree in its April finery. I would love to know the name of this tree.

This is the same sycamore-type from further back, it really is a lovely sight.

This is a beautiful amelanchier looking its finest.

Here is a tiny part of a massive laurel hedge decked out for spring

I couldn’t resist this beautiful old cherry with some of its blossom decorating the narrow pavement. This is an alternative route to the fields. This road has the lovely name of Noddy Park Road.

here is some pretty new growth on a conifer, sorry again don’t know the name.

I love the trunk of this old pine.

This is a lovely tree hedge separating the field from the garden of the first house in Hobs Hole lane. It has a massive garden.

Birch avenue along the golf course

The road home from Noddy Park Road, on the right some lovely horse chestnuts

Fantastic tree blog Bornagain...they look lovely & the names too of your roads..Hobs Hole Lane & Noddy Park Road...just fab! We have one called 'Hat Peg Gate' & 'Sheep Shear Lane'!

Thanks Tt, I didn't know we could recommend blogs. I'm just off to read yours about Goypedia etc. I've already had a quick skim and loved the pics, now I'm going to learn:-) Thanks Tulsalady, I've only just about mastered it. I have some paper and a pen and go through my pics and make a note of those I want to use and I keep 'saving to draft' that allows me to see what the finished article will look like but it does take ages!

Hello bornagain, I too am a great fan of trees, Ihave dozens of photos. If I had lots of dosh I'd have a garden that's so big, I could substitute shrubs for trees. I'd under plant with Honeysuckle and azalias and have a small stream meandering through them. Every year I visit Haughmond Abby in North Shropshire to see all the Bluebells. In a week or two I visit Colemere also in North Shropshire to see the autumn colour. I'd show you a couple of pics but not sure where to put them. I'll put them in 'My photos' Where I live it's predominately Oak but I like them all.

Hi Bornagain...
I managed to put my Wellie blogs on the Wellies section of GoYpedia but I can't see a way to nominate other blogs for other categories, so I messaged the member in charge of trees section and asked her to put it on....:o)

Fluff I think Hat Peg Gate beats Noddy Park Road. I wonder where it gets its name I suppose Sheep Sheer lane is self explanatory I shudder to think how Hobs Hole got its name. These photos of the older part of what everyone here still refers to as 'the village' make it look countrified but unfortunately it's not really.

Hi again Bornagain....
I've messaged Peter to ask whether there is a way for members to nominate blogs for GoYpedia... x

The old names are the best...Hat Peg Gate has been officially re-named 'Breech Lane'...what's that all about?
Heron...I'd do the same...a garden full of trees with a little brook running thru'...just lovely. With bluebells & lily of the valley under them. Write a blog about your pics & put them with that or just on 'your photos' page. :o)

Thanks Lincslass, trees are special aren't they. Heron I look forward to seeing your photos after I've cooked dinner, I've got so behind doing this blog.....;-)

Trees are lovely in spring and summer, turning to give us lovely displays in the autumn then the bare branches of winter waiting to start all over again. loved your pics thanks for sharing them.

You live in a lovely place. Thank you for the tree photos. I love the spring and enjoyed coming with you on your walk :o)

Thanks Heron and Fluff, if I had a beautiful massive field type garden I'd have White Park cattle gently cropping the grass. I saw them once at one of the County Shows and fell madly in love:-) Thanks Drc and Bernie I'm almost looking forward to the winter now, I'll be out with my camera;-) Hywel we are lucky here we only walk for a couple of minutes to reach one of the nicer, older parts. I pretend to myself that we're living in a country village, although if we were we would miss the brilliant bus service and we don't have a car :-))

Bornagain, I followed GF over here after a comment he made on his blog. This tree blog is very nice. I love trees with the dark limbs showing inside the green. You have managed to help me see clearly with your camera what you love..very nice..thank you..~Cat

Thanks Cat, it's funny how once you have a digital camera you start photographing everything. I take so many rubbish ones and never quite get round to editing them. I blame this site! ;-))

Camera's do tend to make you take notice of the world around you a bit more...even when I do not have my camera ...I find myself framing shots..lol..I have been doing photography since my teens...I have always loved it...my parents gave me a camera for my high school graduation, one of those that would print its own picture, a Swinger, I believe it was called...lol..I had the best time with that camera..

6 Dec, 2009

I bet you wouldn't swap it for your digital though:-) I had one of those 'instant' or swinger cameras years ago, that's the only other one I've owned. I wasn't really a camera person and always hated having my photo taken, but it's amazing how addictive it gets. I even took photos of my poor little dog after she'd had her operation so I could put them on a blog! I felt a bit like one of those war correspondents who photograph awful events so others may witness them lol.

No way..I have owned two digitals now..and love them both..but the one I use now has such a nice lens..cannot be wanting anything more.. :) happy happy happy...

Maybe you have found your calling....lol..
