AUTUMN SUN!

Not been enjoying the garden lately (upper back problem), but the sun came out today and so did my camera. The last few days have been ‘dirty’ days, the kind when everything looks damp and dull, so today came as a nice spirit lifting surprise:)

Sisyrinchium flowering now

This hydrangea hasn’t flowered, but at least the leaves are looking pretty

This one flowered beautifully.

H. Redstone Falls still looking lovely. I know I go on about it, but it is special I think. This is it’s first year so I’ll see how it overwinters.

Honeysuckle berries looking like jewels.

Euphorbia Burrows Silver. This had been completely hidden by galloping geraniums.

These nemesia have been wonderful too this year and vanilla scented.

Small geranium, blushing turtle.

Cercis Lavender Twist, not had any flowers from this yet, been in two years, probably lack of sun.

It’s so hard to believe that the year is drawing to a close already, oh well, I suppose the nearer we get to the end of the year … the closer we get to the spring:o)

This is a variegated trachelospermum. it’s in a pot and over wintered well, but so far no flowers, hoping there will be some next year:o)

That was the end, but I’ve added these pics. This is Euphorbia Burrows Silver as is the euphorbia above. Had to put its name for Bloomer:o)

Just showing a bit of colour, this alstroemaria just appeared here. It’s a bit too far forward so need to move it, but it’s so lovely so hope I don’t lose it.

Was just about to go up to bed but so glad I found this first. Everything looks so beautiful in the late autumn sunshine which seems to give everything a gentle touch somehow. Hope you are feeling better, a day like this helps doesn't it?
xx

Thanks Paul, It's not as bad as it was, but I'm being careful. I'm the only here who can work manually so it's rather frustrating as there's lots to do:-)

Sorry to hear about your back probs BA - I hope it eases soon so you can get out and do a wee bit.
That euphorbia is very similar to Silver Swan. Your heleniums are still looking great. Thanks for putting a name to that Sysirichium - a neighbour has a stunning display in her garden and I was going to knock on her door tomorrow to ask what they were.
Beautiful garden - thanks for sharing :))

Hi BA, sorry to hear about the back problems, can understand your frustration not being able to get out in the garden especially when we get the odd days of sunshine. Your garden is looking as good as ever, love that Euphorbia – another one to add to my wish list.

Ooooh thanks all for your kind comments, I'm going for xray on the 19th, such fun:-) Another lovely day here and yesterday I bought two trays of 20 pansies from Morrisons, think called strawberry cream, lovely colours sort of maroony and cream. They fitted nicely into a bag each and then I had to catch the bus home as I was frightened to carry anything else lol. A gardener's got to get her priorities right. Hope I can plant them out soon. Maybe if I'm very careful ......:-))
