MALVERN PART 2 PLUS STROLLERS GARDEN AND SCULPTURES

This was my favourite exhibit this year as it was last year. The stand is quartered showing 4 small colour themed gardens. I love it because they show ideas we could all use regardless of garden size.
We start with the blues/purple…

…leading into yellows. I’m not a yellow fan really, but looked amazing, I haven’t done it justice. The small weeping tree is a Caragana. I used to have one in my old garden and they’re very tough little trees related to laburnums, but not so floriferous:-)

Pink quarter next…

To reds…
I spy GOYers

Talk about eyecatching!!! look at this nicotiana, unfortunately I forget which it was…and I WANT it!

Now for some lovely poppies.

Phew, this is taking a long time lol. Here’s alovely wake robin, trillium G. Roseum, want this too:-)
Followed by a dainty variegated coronilla, I bought one of these and a Citrina:-)

Now we’re going to look at Stroller’s garden. Her OH dropped her and Daylily off before taking me home. That’s him having a little rest on the bench in the front garden, he’d been driving for ages.

Here he is in close up, poor soul, he’s been listening to jabbering women for hours altogether.

Now to the back garden:

Inside the artists shed. Strollers OH enhances natures weird and wonderful shapes. Here is some of his handiwork:

This umbrella stand is made from ivy roots!

After these two Malvern blogs I’m suffering from repetitive strain injury and eye strain so I’m off for a rest:-)

What an interesting blog BA. We passed each other many times, especially in the Floral marquee and yet we seemed to have noticed entirely different stands! - How odd. Its lovely to look through your photos and see the plants you admired and some you bought. The added bonus of seeing Strollers gorgeous garden just finishes it off a treat! I was wondering what had happened to Enoch and now I know! btw Im getting hooked on geums too.

What a lovely day! Malvern Show AND a private viewing! Fantastic sculptures! I do love 'beautified nature' in this way - wonderful! What a talent! Who would have thought that old gent sitting on the bench was capable of such intricate work. ;o)

What a lovely part 2, Ba. I enjoyed the show pics, and an extra treat to see Stroller's beautiful garden. Thank you...xx

21 May, 2012

You're welcome Spritz, thanks. That nicotiana looked fantastic and I know what it was now, it was mutabalis which I think is easy from seeds...so I'm having some next year:-)

22 May, 2012

Yes, my friend grows them every year. :-)

23 May, 2012

Great blog Ba :-) I adore those wood sculptures ,well done Mr Stroller and what a super garden Stroller !!
Can anyone tell me the name of the plants underneath the purple cordyline in the malvern pics ...the pink with purple collars surrounding it .I think I'm in love ! Just taken a closer look ...french lavender ...wont grow in my borders :-(

12 Jun, 2012

Yes it is french lavender, why won't it grow in your borders? You can grow it in a pot too. Are your borders poorly draining?:-)

12 Jun, 2012

My borders are very wet and I've tried ordinary lavender again and again with no luck so the french lavender wouldn't stand a chance Ba and it was for my border I wanted it ...the only thing I do in pots are herbs :-))

13 Jun, 2012

I have a similar problem on my front (garden) I wanted roses and lavender, unfortunately it doesn'r seem to drain too well in parts. I'm thinking of using some sort of edging and raising them a few inches incorporating grit. So far thinking is all I've done lol:-)

13 Jun, 2012
