Thought Id be ready for delivery of sand and shingle for the pond expained time I wanted it difficult access – not a problem we ll crane it in for you. Will you be in yes anytime after 9.15 as must drop Jane at school first where she works.8.45 we set off through narrow country lanes to be nearly forced off the road by huge delivery lorry coming in opposite direction.
Think thats for us quick u-turn chase back home yep pulls up buses etc unable to pass on way to school can just see headlines now – local blamed for school failing ofstead due to poor attendance.
Bags swinging across road branches being snapped as crane pushes through bows Jane late for work.Happy Days.

Sounds frantic. Deliveries never turn up when they are supposed to.

What a morning! I hope Jane wasn't in trouble. Doesn't sound like a real excuse, does it - 'Sorry Miss, a crane was blocking the road'....At least you've got your pond materials now. I know what you'll be doing at the weekend!

Lol I'm sure Jane didn't mind the delay and at least your gear came so you can get stuck in as soon as. I find there's nothing worst waiting in for a delivery that comes so late in the day you just can't get started due to bad light. I hope you took in steady moving that load otherwise it's time to reach for that can of deepheat me thinks! Hel.xxx.

Thank you all back to work next week for a rest.Still struggling to get levels right.Knew the pond was on a slope so just a question of digging on end deeper than other.Ended up with huge shelf one end none the other, sounds ok if planning a shallow shingle ledge which I was but obviously - says he now!- deeper end will continue to fill in heavy rain and try and escape from shallow end .So plan c or d have split this into two by creating barrier which will act like sink overflow as it reaches level of deeper end will overflow into shingle area to act as soak away /bog garden. As water level drops in deeper end will stop flow into shallow shingle end .Please dont ask what will happen if it rains for days on end.
