Foxhollow in the snow

This is only the second time I have seen snow here at Foxhollow in just over the ten years we have been here, a vary rare occurrence situated as we are just north of Poole in Dorset. Did start to clear up during the day but starting to come down again pretty hard late afternoon.

Above – A young plant of Pinus jefffreyi ‘Joppi’

Above – Looking back to the house from the far end of the garden.

Above – this is a trio of Berberis atropurpurea ‘Bagatelle’ grown together to look like one plant, the bare stems seem to almost have a ghostly effect.

Above – the main trio of conifers here are from right to left, Platycladus (Thuja) orientalis ‘Southport’, Pinus leucodermis ‘Schneverdingen’, and Taxus baccata ‘Black Rod’.

Above – The bare stems of Larix decidua ‘Pendula’ makes an attractive feature in the garden in winter – who says conifers are boring!

Above – the winter heath Erica carnea ‘Rotes Juwel’ in full flower through the winter snow.

Above – A view looking down to the main boundary.

Lovely pictures Bluespruce. Thanks for sharing your unusual weather! So far we have not had a lot here, a few heavy flurries but that is all.

What a different view from the usual, Bluespruce, but equally beautiful.

Yes, we have had some snow here as well - it usually stays on the moors and misses the coastal strip. Not this time - there's a lot more to come tonight, according to the forecast, and it has already started (nearly 9 o'clock).

It's surprising how lots of flowers survive these cold temps. They're much tougher than me. lol

Lovely photos...especially with the little bit of sun shining in a couple of them. You garden sure looks wonderful in the snow. You photo of the Heath in the snow is very pretty. The magenta flowers are offset nicely with the white.

Although we do not like the inconvenience & the thaw, but the garden is a beautiful place under snow, yours in particular.

I love how icy it looks, though I would guess y'all are probably tired of the snow by now!
