This is hopefully,to complement the blog and Photo’s posted by Siris,on her recent visit to Tatton Park last week..so between us both, you should see most of it.except my outdoor ones are somewhat sparse, because of the bad weather we had..luckily,it doesn’t appear to show up much on the ones I took…

Firstly, our greeting by this strange little creature inside the entrance, which made us smile,as we didn’t realise he was a man in a planter, till he stood up ! :o)

On to the flower marquee ,as it had just started raining..everyone else was heading the same way too..so here are a few of my favourites..
Lovely Alliums..

A tower of Fuchsias for Hywel

Agapanthus..

Orchids..

These were on the Orchid stand, but I’ve never heard of this one before,so I presume they are Orchids..Experts in this field will recognise the variety…

Grasses…

I had to rummage round the back of this lovely Blue grass to find the label :o)

Clematis..

Heucheras

..and now to the outside..is it still raining? you bet..in buckets ! Sadly,I only managed to take a few of the many on display,as although it doesn’t really give the impression it was so wet outside,I can assure you it was..

These two are the last photos,,and are rather special,as the Designer Lindsay , is a newly qualified garden designer, and lives in one of our local villages..She designed it for a local lady, who was widowed recently.and she wanted something where she could quietly contemplate, and enjoy her craft work.with a sunshine theme..hence the paving ,with local cobbles to
soften the effect, and Chamomile edging…All the planting is in soft shades of Blues, pinks and purples.and all have healing or medicinal properties..We were really delighted she got a Bronze for her work, and it was lovely to have a chat with her, before we left..

I hope you have enjoyed my take on Tatton park, and just wish we could have stayed longer, but by now,we were feeling cold and hungry,so we headed towards home, and a nice welcoming Carvery lunch at a pub we had spotted on the way there..It was still a lovely day out despite the weather, and as it was an early Birthday gift for Russell, and an Anniversary treat for us both, the following day, from my lovely sister in law and her partner,we appreciated it very much :o)

Fabulous look around Bloomer, super picures of all the marquee flowers I especially like the Eremurus Sandy Hybrids, the gardens are all attractive and who would realise you were getting soaked for your art! Lindsay's garden is a lovely peaceful space, her friend will love sitting there I'm sure, thank you for sharing your lovely
- if wet - day out :o) x

Thank you Neellan..I loved the Eremurus too, such lovely soft colours, aren't they ?.We will take a look at the Garden that Lindsay designed for Sharon, the next time we go to Marsden,as my sister in law has her Hairdressing salon there..Did you notice the Hare sitting by the front door? :o)
I'm glad you enjoyed trawling through all the photo's,but I didn't want to leave any out :o)

It was a pleasure not a trawl Bloomer!! The Eremurus colours are just lovely, It will be so nice to see Lindsay's garden in it's final and intended situ, yes I spotted the hare he is very tall - sure to raise a smile for Sharon :o)

I enjoyed your blog Sandra. The fuchsia tower was spectacular. You know how I love them ...
but in fairness all the stalls were well set out with healthy colourful plants.
I'm pleased the garden designed by Lindsay got a prize. I thought it was lovely :)

All displays are nice and fresh looking and Lindsay design is charming. Nice to have talented people locally. Thank you for showing us.

2 Aug, 2015

Thanks Neellan..If possible,I will take a photo of the designer garden,if the new owner will give me permission.. I'm sure I will be able to find it,as there won't be a similar one in the area :o)

2 Aug, 2015

Thank you Hywel,I always think of you, when I see Fuchsias..:o)..and yes,all the displays were so well done..I could have been there forever taking photo's :o)

Thank you Klahanie..Pleased you enjoyed it..The Designer and her husband have an Organic Fruit and Vegetable shop in the village, called "Raddish",but they are moving away soon,so she can pursue her new Gardening Career..and her OH is actually a Baker,so they will probably open a similar shop elsewhere.A shame really, but people have to move on sometimes..

You made the very best of a 'let down of a day!'

I love all the displays, the clematis look so tempting when they are all in flower side by side!

The sunshine garden is a gem, the pattern in the paving is so lovely. I love it.

Just wish you could have enjoyed the outside displays on a dry day. Next year maybe?!

2 Aug, 2015

Thank you Chris,it didn't dampen our spirits too much, and it was nice and dry inside;o) Maybe one day we will go again, but there are always the Yorkshire spring and early Autumn ones, ones, which are very similar.:o) Glad you liked the Sunshine garden..my Garden might be sunny later on,as it's a bit drizzly this morning, but high temps given for this afternoon..:o) x

Thank you for sharing your visit, Sandra, and for generously getting wet to take so many lovely photos for us! Your designer friend's garden is delightful - especially the grassy seats - and her colour scheme is so effective: a well-deserved medal :)

Thank you for your lovely comment ,Sheila..At least we dried out quickly in the pub later..It was a shame to see some of the outside garden, looking quite droopy and bedraggled..and the exhibitors too..just standing around, and talking to people who wanted to ask questions,or to compliment..we were really pleased Lindsay's first attempt got a Bronze..and definitely well deserved..next stop,Chelsea,I wonder? I hope so :o)

Sorry you had bad weather Sandra. It has been so unpredictable hasn't it. I took the awful weather south with me and brought it back North again! I don't think we are getting any summer at all this year up here....sigh...oh well. Never mind, the plants are still growing. I did love those show gardens you put on at the end. I love the contrast of the colour of the wooden building with the blue flowers. Very peaceful and warm looking in spite of the cool blues. :)

Hi Sandra pleased to hear you both enjoyed the flower show despite the Rain, lovely displays of plants for you to drool over, I love the Clematis display and those grasses too I always feel like sticking funny eyes and mouths on them, they would make a great Rogues Gallery lol!

2 Aug, 2015

Thanks for the blog Sandra. It's many years since I last visited Tatton Park Flower Show. I think the floral displays are fantastic, and I especially liked the one of Clematis. It's a good job I can't fit in any more, there are so many beautiful ones. I'm glad two had a good time, despite the weather. I'm not sure about the chap who greeted you, he looks rather scary to me.

2 Aug, 2015

Thank you,Karen,,and what a shame you were still following the weather,or it was following you ! :o( A shame we didn't get to see the other gardens..but these were on our way to the exit,so I thought I'd better snap away at some,at least ! By then, the rain was getting on the camera lens,so I needed to get a move on :o)

2 Aug, 2015

Thank you Carole..a it was still nice to visit, but could have been better..glad you enjoyed the visit, and I can imagine those grasses with funny faces..bad hair days though :o)The Clematis really were lovely ..We had plenty to drool over in the Marquee..xxx

You're welcome Julia, and thank you..The man in the planter certainly made us jump when he stood up,but he was a cheery chap, and raised many a smile :o) If you remember we visited Tatton just under a year ago, when we stayed overnight nearby..It's a wonderful place in it's own right,so you must go again one day..:o)

2 Aug, 2015

Perhaps you and I could go next year? ??

2 Aug, 2015

Maybe Julia..but we didn't renew our NT membership this year,as we weren't making enough use of it..We made use of it a lot in the first couple of years, but we have been to most in our area a few times,so decided not to bother ....

2 Aug, 2015

I never joined as I didn't think I would make enough use of it. Incidentally, Burton Agnes Hall isn't a NT house.

3 Aug, 2015

A shame they put the prices up so much,Julia..I know it all helps to maintain these places, but it's a bit like Motoring orgs,if you cancel and then rejoin,it's much cheaper..! but if you don't make use of it,there isn't much point in having one really..and thanks for the info about Burton Agnes Hall..it sounds a lovely place to visit..x

Oh dear.....more rain! What a year.
Those eremerus look spectacular, displayed like that.
I must say the flower pot man is a bit odd...I would think it scared a few people.

4 Aug, 2015

Thanks Paul, yes ,rain on the day we could have done without ! The Eremerus were one of my favourites..I don't know much about them, but they were certainly eye catching..I think the flower pot man was supposed to be an Elf? It was a bit scary when he stood up,but most people just laughed..I didn't hide behind my OH,honest ! :o)

4 Aug, 2015

Just catching up again ! Always seem to be doing this lately Sandra ! I've enjoyed seeing Tatton Park and used to love going there, but unfortunately can't anymore ! I love the blue grass ! You weren't sold the" bin liner" macs then ! lol

5 Aug, 2015

LOved the Allium Red Mohican. The flower pot guy was a little scary. Many great ideas throughout. :)

6 Aug, 2015

Hi Rose, pleased it brought back some nice memories for you..and no,I didn't buy one..one bitten twice shy ! Lol The Blue grass was my favourite of all the Grasses..:o)

6 Aug, 2015

Aren't they lovely,Paul? I've never seen that colour before.
Glad you enjoyed seeing one of our many Annual flower shows...just wish I could visit them all..This one is only approx 90 minutes driving time from us...

6 Aug, 2015

Looks like one of those fireworks. Never seen this one either, must be new.

6 Aug, 2015

Now look here Sandra, I think that first picture cruel ... And calling me a man! I had been looking for a loo for ages and just popped in that bush out of desperation....... :-( I like all the other pics though:-)

9 Aug, 2015

I thought the face looked familiar,Ba, Lol.glad you liked the rest of them though :o)

10 Aug, 2015

Sorry to be so late to this blog, Sandra ... shame the weather was poor but thanks so much for taking some pics outdoors for us! All credit to young Lindsay ... love her design.

10 Aug, 2015

Glad you enjoyed the visit,Shirley..and Lindsay's design..Weather a bit of a let down, but we soldiered on..as you do ! Lol xx

12 Aug, 2015

Definitely ... bad weather never stops us ... we're British ... lol! We had thunder storms and heavy rain last night and this morning ... sun shining now.

13 Aug, 2015

We have had a dry and calm day here,so we went for a long walk..no sunshine to speak of,but pleasant..The rain is just starting here..9.15pm..gentle as yet..but it looks like it isn't going to stay that way ! :o(
Alison and family have gone to stay in Skipton with friends, for a couple of days...in Caravans! oh,dear...

13 Aug, 2015

Fingers crossed the rain stays away from Skipton ... at least they're not camping in tents!

14 Aug, 2015

It rained all night and all day, just like here, but they found an indoor play gym for the boys..so at least someone had a good day :o)

14 Aug, 2015

Indeed ... thank goodness for indoor play areas! :o)

15 Aug, 2015

Of course the two mums didn't check out the forecast..so found two Waterproof macs in a wardrobe, belonging to my daughters friend's Grandma ! Lol

15 Aug, 2015

Jiffy hats too?

15 Aug, 2015

Not too sure about those,Shirley..what are Jiffy hats exactly? I've never heard of them ..maybe as well ! Lol

15 Aug, 2015

Sandra, those see-through plastic/PVC rain hats ladies of a certain age used to wear to protect their shampoo and set! We've always known them as Jiffy hats .....

16 Aug, 2015

Ah,Rain mates,,,I like your name better ..:o)

18 Aug, 2015
