4 Aug, 2012

He really was Bloomer I was on the edge of my seat.

Yes so nice to see his daughter she was a big girl and so proud of her daddy.

4 Aug, 2012

My biggest cheer was for Greg Rutherford in the long jump. The other two medal winners were great but no-one expected him to win. Well done Greg!

4 Aug, 2012

It's been a tearful night all round . . . emotional, or what? Utterly fantastic, and well said Bloomer :))

4 Aug, 2012

He was fantastic also,Andrew,I agree....a great achievement for him ...

Very emotional ,Sheila..but in the best way ..what a great day for them all :o)

They all did brilliantly! 6 gold medals and a silver in one day!! It's incredible.

4 Aug, 2012

I see a new rose coming on the market soon. A white rose maybe ? No, it will have to be white won't it ?

4 Aug, 2012

I have been so tense all evening ! I've loved it all, and tonights events were so exciting. Still another week to go, don't think my nerves will stand it !!

4 Aug, 2012

That would be a great idea,Inverglen...seeing as it was Yorkshire Day on the 1st August :o)..so hope it would be a white one..but any colour named after her, would be nice:o).

4 Aug, 2012

Sorry,Tuesdaybear..almost missed you..It's all the excitement..!..isn't it brilliant?

4 Aug, 2012

Just waiting for 'Sports Person Of The Year' show in a few months' time. If Jessica isn't a winner - or a front runner - I'll want to know why!

5 Aug, 2012

I truly didn't know I'd feel like this!

I was quite ambivalent about the olympics but......Well!

Its Incredible right from the first medal win....seeing that its the support from the crowd that spurs the athletes to greater than they ever thought they could......Incredible!

5 Aug, 2012

Yes excellent Bloomer - winning a few golds now, the girl's football was great - sad they went out

5 Aug, 2012

I felt the same ambivalence, Pam, but now I've gone all patriotic, and glad so many supporters are there and being loud, lol :))

5 Aug, 2012

Yes, although not keen on watching sport.... I did have a tear in my eye seeing her joy and knowing all the sacrifices and effort put in for this one moment. Then blow me down, just a short time later ...... I was shouting myself hoarse for Mo Farah ....what a win ....more tears lol:-)))

5 Aug, 2012

You are right to be proud of Jessica Ennis she was The Bees Knees and I was so impressed with the lap of honour
with all the pentathletes going round along with her, to my mind showing true sporting spirit
Very proud of all our Olympians and it is so good to see results for all their hard work and dedication .Go team GB .

5 Aug, 2012

Bearing in mind I am the typical miserable old killjoy who wouldn't cross the street to watch sport of any kind, I got really excited and emotional last night. How magic was that? I was upset when so many people (the media most of all) put such pressure on the athletes, and tempted Providence so openly by predicting victory for team GB, but so proud when we made it. Did you notice that? I said "We". Just for now I'm ecstatically proud to be a Brit.

5 Aug, 2012

So glad you have all got into the spirit..I can't believe I have either.! .and what about our own home grown Ed Clancy as well ?? what a buzz there is in Huddersfield....so nice for everyone not to be knocking Britain for a change..let's hope the elation doesn't fade when it's all over..it is just what we needed, and the Jubilee...although I am proud to live here, whatever goes on..
and my sentiments too..go team GB..:o)

5 Aug, 2012

i agree Bloomer well done Jess and the all the athletes..

5 Aug, 2012

She is amazing, this last week with the olympics as made me so proud to be British.

5 Aug, 2012

Yes, well done Jess and everyone else - they've done us proud!

5 Aug, 2012

They sure have.

5 Aug, 2012

It has been great hasn't it Bloomer. I am going to watch Andy Murray today.......fingers crossed.

5 Aug, 2012

My daughter has the tennis on at the moment, she`s just yelled at the television and told the crowd off for cheering Roger, lol...
I personally am not into sport at all, I am however very patriotic and I`m thrilled that our athletes are doing us proud, hubby keeps me updated every few mins in his excitement....

5 Aug, 2012

she is fantastic sandra and she always looked so calm and full of smiles, iv enjoyed it all :o))

6 Aug, 2012

I agree,San..and I'm surprised at myself..didn't think I would get into it at all,sport isn't my thing.but I've enjoyed everything i've seen so far :o)

6 Aug, 2012

Flippin eck ...too many Yorkies winning medals .... How big is your Yorkshire pride now Sandra?:-)

7 Aug, 2012

I'm not normally much into sport, but I've been watching the Olympics this time round at every opportunity. I think it makes a difference when it's held in your own country.

7 Aug, 2012

I don't normally watch either Sheila, but I think you're right and I love the way the crowd cheer and will on everyone, not only their own:-)

7 Aug, 2012

I'm bursting with it,Ba..and for all of our team GB ..wherever they are from..but it's a bit special to be celebrating for one's own county:o)..and I totally agree,Sheilar..great to see it here :o)

7 Aug, 2012

And now the two brilliant Brownlees! Such nice, down-to-earth lads as well. And Sir Chris and Queen Vic and Laura Trott and Jason K and the equestrians and... oh, all of them. Totally awesome!

7 Aug, 2012

Can you believe some people? Did anyone else read what that appalling person and doubtful personality "Morrissey" wrote?

"“I am unable to watch the Olympics due to the blistering jingoism that drenches the event, has England ever been quite so foul with patriotism?"

There's no pleasing some people, is there?

7 Aug, 2012

I heard it on the radio,Gattina...what a plonker, for want of a better word on here..! I never liked him anyway..even less now ...and proud to say,we now have our Gold postbox in Huddersfield...for Ed Clancy ..:o)

8 Aug, 2012

I think "plonker" is far too mild a term, Bloomer, but you've always been a gentle soul. I'd hoist him above the Olympic flame. He should be done nicely by the time of the closing ceremony.

8 Aug, 2012

It's a bit early in the day for me to start blastpheming,Gattina..I need to chill out with a cuppa, and my quiet time on here :o)but I can do my share as the day's events unfold ! Lol....*=#*"#..that will have to do for now :o))..ha ha,...Melba Morrissey..should be well and truly 'done' ..!

8 Aug, 2012

I don't think he knows what jingoism means ...so deserves a roasting ...but your way may be going a bit far Gattina;-)

8 Aug, 2012

It's all or nothing with me, BA ;o) It did make me angry, though. I may not be a great fan of the Olympics, and I've said some deprecating things about the UK from time to time, but he really takes the biscuit. He's said some other pretty dreadful things in the past, too, so roasting's actually too good for him.

8 Aug, 2012

Another gold for another Yorkshire lass Sandra! When Nicola was asked if it was something in the water in Yorkshire, she said it was the Yorkshire pudding.... so there you have it:-)

10 Aug, 2012

.Only a true Yorkshire lass would say that.,Ba Lol...It's just great..we saw the Gold Postbox in town today, for Ed Clancy :o)
.

10 Aug, 2012

Just seen this blog. Brilliant and i so agree with all the sentiments. Particularly the roasting of that twerp. I'm proud to be British and am proud of what Britain has achieved - so there Morrissey twerp.

11 Aug, 2012

Been out today with family to Bridgenorth, small folk festival, and just got back in time to shout myself hoarse as Mo Farrah did it again! Ok Sandra.... I know he's not from Yorkshire ...but what an athlete:-))

11 Aug, 2012

Oh,Ba..i was also shouting for Mo too ! Isn't he just the best? ..he is British,so that's good enough for me..and it's a wonder his poor wife hasn't given birth early with their twins ! :o)

11 Aug, 2012

Lol Bloomer, never thought of that lol:-)
