Any damage ?

Hello Bloomer ..
I hope the roofing felt can be put back without too much hassle. Yesterday the winds were very strong here, and I saw that the roofing felt was blowing back on my oldest shed which has an apex roof.

I grabbed a hammer, and managed to fix the felt back, before it ripped off completely ... Nothing else obviously damaged very near here, but apparently lots of fences down around the neighbourhood.

Very windy up here still! Nearly got blown off my feet last night walking into the school! Lost the cover off a plant I was keeping warm..one minute I looked out it was there.,.the next..God knows where it went..looked out studio window and couldnt see it anywhere! I had made a frame for it to go on and had bricks and heavy wood on top..ah well..plant is still ok ..for now..apart from that..quite a few trees blown over on journey to school here and there..cant see much damage around where I live....so far..hope this dies down soon!

You certainly have had the worst of the weather up north! Glad to hear you're still ok, bloomer and your lovely garden. It has been a bit blowy down here in Kent, but nothing like what you've had - hope it all blows through soon. Pixie it sounds a bit scary where you are, a bit like the hurricane we had back in 1987-lots of trees came down - stay safe!

thanks Poppy..it is wild!!!!! lots of trees blown down on roads..might have to make a detour tonight to get to the school..my secret door is squeaking! hope it doesnt get blown down! Even the cat wont go out..lol

It is my neighbours roofing felt,but as it was quite old,it will have to have a new one.We replaced ours a few months ago,so probably ours would have gone too..Still as wild here,but a beautiful sunny and warm day..not a
cloud in the sky..I intend locking myself in the shed for an hour.,to do a bit of potting on,and some cuttings..

We had strong winds, but the only real casualty was an elderly neighbours T.V ariel.

I lost a couple of toms plants, but compared to others damage, I can live with it.

Still not dying down..so much for the weather forecast! pfft!

Tuesday! we are still being battered by the Big wind.... There is nothing like going out at first light to help hubby clear a large fir tree which had blown over the only driveway to our house. Bet the neighbouring cottage was well impressed being woken by the sound of a chainsaw!
Have had to stake one of my roses as it is being ripped out of the ground with this gale!

Why do the forecasters say the wind is dying down when it's actually at this minute, blowing soot down the chimney on to the living room floor!

If it lasts much longer I definitely won`t need a ladder to strip my apple tree and the front hedge is still waiting a haircut, lol..Its a lot worse in other places but still worries me as hubby can get stuck whilst working..

Oh not my pants again! lol sry..you KNOW what I meant haha..wind has died down..at least outside anyway .o\)

Glad to hear everyone is safe. We've been quite lucky here the wind hasn't been too bad. Was a bit interesting on the motorway in places on the weekend but otherwise its been ok. Pretty breezy but nothing too ridiculous. Was actually worse last week when I was trying to pot some herbs up. Spent more time chasing the blasted pots down the garden that I did planting the herbs lol.

Bloomer your poor arch. Hope the plants come back ok.

Pixi hope you plants (and pants) and secret door all make it through in one piece :D Hope your dad's coping with the weather ok.

Lincs we went out over the weekend and got most of the apples off the tree just in case. Hope you still have some apples left on your tree.
