At long last we have the long awaited rain today. The good steady gardening rain we all love, not,as Peter Kaye says,“that fine stuff that wets you through”….so, I started thinking !! mmm,the plants look so nice and fresh, the light is more subdued,so hre comes the mad bit….
I peered left and right,to see if any of the neighbours were about..naturally they weren’t,so having just done my hair( like Lily,on her pic).I ventured out with a towel over my head, trying to keep the camera dry,..not a pretty sight, and fervently hoping I wasn’t going to be a suspect by MI 5,I took a pic as quickly as I could, and hoped for the best…

Well,I am now happy,as it was a case of point, aim, and click..so turned out better than expected…and the hair didn’t suffer too much, just a bit flat..Lol.
Still, not going anywhere today,so it doesn’t really matter…bad hair days are quite the norm anyway…:o))

I'm thinking now of buying some lavender for my circle path, I only have bedding there now and I've thought of l. little lady, do you know it? I've never had much success with lavander, but love the idea of a perfumed path. Any tips on how to keep it looking good? should I put a little lime in planting hole? I love the colour of your one Bloomer, which one is it and does it flower for long? :-)

Thanks Pip,the Hair is fine...very fine, thats why it goes so flat ! Lol.
Ba..Mine is the Hidcote variety, and I don't put lome in it.It is good soil though, and lots of home made compost went in it originally, but I never bother with feeding or mulching it,as it grows so well on its own. Both mine are in a sunny place,as they prefer that, and don't mind it dry.It will flower all summer, but just take the dead flowers and stems off, afterwards, and give it a light trim over.Don't cut into old wood. When it starts growing new foliage next year,I usually trim the stems to that point,as they tend to grow leggy, and don't get new growth coming from lower down..It will stay nice and bushy then..Cuttings take easily,so if you can beg a few from someone, that would be good.If you buy some, get the smaller ones...Hope this helps..:o)
