Bless him he does not look a happy chappie although posing nicely for his photo shot, now if I'd read both blogs together I'd have had my answer, lol, great set of photos, I do admire all your Rhododendrons, we don't see them around here as our area is not suited to them Brian but one can still wish and yes its still raining here...

My favourite photos are your peony and the brilliantisama.
I love it when the tree's first shoots show the colour is beautiful. Are they slow growing?

Marjorie
Brilliantissima. Is in my opinion a 10 day wonder ,it turns from the colour you see to cream a dark green all inside a few weeks and thats it until next spring .no autumn colour
Fortunately when i bought it it was planted in an area behind a glass house so serves to provide some shade.
i have had a moan about it before on Goy even tried to stop one member planting it as spot plant in there small front garden but to no avail, average growth for a tree, there are many better ones you could choose.

Another great look at some of the plants in your garden! I don't think many of them would be happy in the confines of my balcony! (One can but dream!)
