Around My Garden After the 2009-2010 Summer Downunder.

I just wanted to share a post from one of my blogs … in it I’ve added a video of both the courtyard and greenhouse garden areas after the harsh summertime we’ve just experienced.

I know some of you have wanted a closer look at these garden areas … but be warned! There’s an Aussie accent coming up … get your ears ready!

Also please note that the video does NOT show these garden areas at their best! The best time of my gardening year is about to begin, I wanted to record what these garden areas were like at the beginning of this time so I can compare them at the end. Then I’ll have a visual record of the progress this year. As many of you know I only really started making changes in these two garden areas at the beginning of last year, and it’s still very much a work in progress.

There’s a few things to note before we start … it’s just dawned on me that it’s ironic the Oscars are on the T.V. right now … lol this video would definitely get an award at the Razzies, not the Oscars!!!!

Aside from that:
1. Please excuse the brain freeze … when I say ‘mussaenda’ I should be saying ‘euphorbia’, but I had just seen a little tree snake crawling through the mussaenda behind me!

2. Apologies it’s in three parts … it would not upload as a whole!

3. If you’re wondering what the cracking sound is in the first and second parts … it’s the corrugated iron roof expanding and contracting with the heat as the sun appears and disappears behind the cloud cover.

4. Apologies about being a bit lazy by just adding the link, I didn’t have the time or inclination to write this up as another blog! So I’m resorting to my own blog site … anyway here’s the link:

NOT nominated for an award this year!!!!

Thank you for the lovely guided tour of your beautiful courtyard garden and greenhouse garden. You say it’s not at its best but it still looks pretty good to me. It was lovely to hear your voice as well. You have some gorgeous plants. Hope you have success with your bulbs and I will look forward to seeing them in bloom. More video footage please.

You get my vote for an Oscar! :0)

Thanks for such a wonderful tour around your lovely garden! I really enjoyed it, blogs are good but there is nothing that can compare with a video guided tour - unless one were there in person!

It was so good to hear your voice & the explanations of the areas & the plants. The footage was so clear it seemed you could almost reach out & touch the plants. The birdsong in the background & the sound of insects buzzing around just add another dimension to the the tour!

Well done & my vote also goes to you as well!

I also enjoyed the tour of your fabulous garden, such luscious plants and loved the background birdsong and as you had warned about the clicks I could even hear the sun come out......how good is that!! the brick paths and steps looked very inviting. Room on that table for your well deserved Oscar no Razzies for you Bernieh!

Well you're all very, very kind! Glad you enjoyed the real life visit ...I'm afraid there's always lots of birdsong in the background and lots of insects adding their special little noises as well. The roof is just something I'm so used to that at first I didn't notice the noise at all ... then hubbie drew my attention to it! I will definitely take another tour when the garden picks up later in the autumn/early winter.
