Plants at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens - Part 1.

The City Botanic Gardens are the city’s oldest park, originally planted by convicts in 1825 with food crops to feed the prison colony, but was officially opened as the Botanic Gardens in 1855 and consists of approximately 20 hectares.The roughly triangular park is bordered by the Brisbane River on one side, and the grounds of Parliament House and the Queensland University of Technology’s Gardens Point campus on another.

Thanks Llew - the top photo is of the blossoms on the Colvillea Racemosa tree. It is spectacular when in full bloom.

Bjs and Lincslass - the ornamental ponds were filled with these water lilies and they were beautiful purples and pinks.
