I really like the lantern! Any idea where can I get one? Most I have seen look so plastic even if they are not, but that one is really beautiful.

I'd say you were asking for trouble....

I am really not sure...just emailed the nursery where I bought them.
On photo - Canna "DURBAN" ???
This is new in my garden. I ordered it as a Canna "Durban" which are meant to have incredibly multi-colored leaves. This seems a bit plain and I wonder if the nursery sent the wrong ones by mistake.

I only found two entries for your blog...one about the hedgehog and and the other about old garden pics. Am I not looking in the right place? Ever use bran? A friend of mine says the slugs eat it and their gut explodes because it expands. Also it is harmless to other creatures.

No mercy!!! But I am trying to find a good organic alternative. I hear spent coffee is the latest. Anyone else try that with any degree of success?

I have this in my garden. Nothing more beautiful than watching its leaves unfurl in spring! For some reason this is not listed in the botanical list of plants on this site...very odd.

no, no thorns and definitely looses its leaves

I am pretty sure that this is Berberis, not boxwood. I did not plant it, but the leaves turn bright red and fall off in winter, so it's a pretty safe bet to assume that's what it is.

By the way, I did move some of them and they have taken very well. Left the tallest in place. One was floppy for a day after moving and now is doing great and has flowers. One of the plants has one vine of quite significant sized tomatoes already. I am very excited to try them! I think tomato fertilizer helped too.
