* My New Greenhouse *

Well it is new to me .. an elderly friend has several large greenhouses, .. he couldn,t manage to look after them all so asked us if we would like to have one , as it was larger than ours we said yes please …
The first job was finding it …. It was here in these overgrown brambles …
After we had cleared away the brambles , and taken the glass out this is what was left
Luckily the glass wasn,t broken , that didn,t happen until later !!
Every pane of glass needed scrubbibg and cleaning , this is when some of the panes did get broken
It all came together in the end … it,s a good greenhouse .
The 5ft long staging benches we bought from a shop that was closing down for £ 4. each
I have already started taking cutting and putting them in .. I,m really pleased with it … I,ve no need to tell you that a friend soon made off with our old one !!

It's fantastic, Amy, such a lovely size. I don't think you'll have any trouble filling it though :)

You've worked really hard getting the greenhouse fully functional. It must have been a challenge rescuing it from all those brambles. I hope you get lots of enjoyment out of it.

Thanks everyone , we are just home after having a birthday meal with our daughter and family , Our daughters birthday not mine ! I won,t tell you how old she is as it makes me feel too old ..LOL..
The Greenhouse is 10 x 8 we bought 4 of the staging units I think we will only put 3 in , we might have room for that chair then Janey !!
It has two windows that open automatically at the top and two lots of vents down the sides that open as well ..
I,m already deciding which plants I can take cutting from and when , they will soon fill it up .. :o)

you will have so much room now, ive taken a few cutting off my geraniums, put them in growhouse till i have to bring them in the house over winter, i knew my spare room would come in handy lol

Its wonderful Amy - lots of work but well worth it. How old is it? I think those vents on the sides will be brilliant for the through draught factor. I have 4 openers at the top but I think side vents are essential to stop the dreaded blight - John's going to adapt mine this winter.

Thanks Dawn , we think it,s about 15 yrs old , it isn,t rusty or anything and the sliding doors work perfectly ,
It was probably protected from the worst weather under the brambles ... LOL...

Its brilliant. I may have told you before, I have my Dad's greenhouse and he bought it new before he got married and that was in 1956! It still looks like new so I think you'll get many years out of yours. Love he staging by the way.
