Hello friends , we’ve been back from our travels for one whole week we’ve been so busy here mainly with the garden you wouldn’t believe how much things had grown it was like a jungle , we are still trying to get on top of it besides picking Blackcurrants ,Peas , Strawberries etc. I’m so glad we had someone in to mow the lawns ..
We had a wonderful holiday ,we did and saw so many amazing places I will try to list some with photos .
Our first few days were spent in Brugge with it’s many waterways ,thanks you for advising the boat trip Mushy we very much enjoyed that .
Viadem
Larachette
Damme
Sorry I can’t give details of individual places it would take to long .
Luxembourg an amazing place with it’s Casements
The Casements with it’s long underground galleries carved out to a depth of 40 metres were used during two world wars, the Casements were used not only to protect thousands of people but also artillery and weapons ,workshops , kitchens bakeries ,slaughterhouses -an underground city !
The market in the City centre with it’s dazzling array of plants/flowers /cheeses etc. kept me occupied for sometime , I only managed to sneak one plant in my bag .. Honest :o)
I think I’d better finish here and carry on in a part two , next stop Strasbourg …..

Terrific blog, Amy, cheese and plants - two of my favourite things, lucky you :) I had to skip over the caverns quickly as I don't do underground - very brave of you to go down there and hard to imagine people having to live and work down there during WW2. Fascinating blog, and I love the view through the window. Glad you had such a good time.

Thanks Gee I'm glad you enjoyed it I don't mind you skipping the caverns you wouldn't have liked them I'm sure it would have been quite easy to get lost it felt like a maze also it was on different levels which meant going up and down . the sun felt good when we came out !

Late as usual, wonderful photos, a most interesting place to visit, you must have been quite high up in picture 9, what a view!! I would not enjoy the casements, very claustrophobic!! other than that a fascinating place to visit.
25 Jul, 2013
Thanks Angela , no 9 was from the casements it's a strange place with miles of tunnels on different levels above ground and below , you almost need a ball of string and a stick of chalk to find your way back :o)
