Looks like a good time to visit Amy . . . lovely photos. What a bummer though, to come home from holiday to a disaster :( Sending much sympathy and good luck.

All lovely - I'd only see pics of the lily pool before, so thank you for sharing these. I was a bit envious of those nasturtiums - its been impossible round here to find dwarf ones for several years, and the trailing ones get everywhere! All the best with your drain problems.

Beautiful photos Amy of a beautiful place, as you know I should love to visit, so to see these is a real treat! So pleased you had a good time, but very sad that you've come home to so much work, I hope Tony can get to the bottom of things without damaging too much of your garden......:(( X

Some beautiful planting to admire, but wouldn`t like the job of cleaning those pans.lol. Hope your holiday has rejuvenated you enough to cope with those blocked drains and the awful weather doesn`t hamper you too much.

Thank you all so much ,I'm glad you enjoyed looking at the photos , I was envious of the Nasturtiums as well S/ gram and would like to put some round the edge of my drive ... Carole £125 golly that's a fortune shows how good an artist you are I had better start saving your autographs :o)) there was another room in blue and yellow Stevie as you came through to the kitchen , Stroller I inherited a lot of copper kettles and warm pans and hated cleaning it my children use to offer to clean it once a month for extra pocket money lol...
Thanks everyone for your good wishes in fixing our drainage problem it is a big job we have so far dug out a Cotoneaster shrub which was growing along the wall to see if that was blocking the pipe at the roots ,it wasn't , we then cut through the concrete path with an angle grinder ,dug a trench approx 10 ft into the lawn and have found a T-juntion where another pipe drains in from the driveway ,the pipe we need to clear is heading towards the ditch 60 ft away it's completely blocked with roots etc. we are hoping to flush it through into the ditch without having to dig up more lawn , I will keep you posted with some photos .. Janey poor Tony looked shattered last night not a good end to the holiday :o(

When I was 3 I put my slippers down the lavatory and pulled the chain.
My parents had to have the drains dug up, and found them !
Thank you for all the lovely photographs.

Thanks Hywel it was a lovely holiday the weather was brilliant as well that was bonus after our summer ,Tony is making progress with the drainage problem I will put some photos on when it's finished to show how much damage trees and shrubs near pipes can do ..

I cant remember anything about it Amy. After that they bought me a Mickey Mouse trike. I found some paint in the garage, painted the seat, and sat on it !
So they said. Cant remember that either.

I guess you could be right about that Brian ,I have to confess to being slightly disappointed in that you weren't allowed to walk up and down the beds they were cordoned off at each end :o(
Diane you were a little scamp ! you didn't deserve a nice new Micky mouse bike LOL ..

A wonderful place to visit! My cousin lives just outside Paris and he took us there one year, but unfortunately it was the year there was a severe drought and the gardens had suffered terribly. We still enjoyed it though.

You will get there one day Angela , there's always so much to do and places to visit that it's a job to fit it all in , Lucky you to have a cousin near Paris Rose , I'm afraid gardens never perform just when we want them to it's always pot luck !
