Yesterday we went to a plant fair held within the grounds of Blacksmith,s Cottage Nursery supported by the RHS.
It was opened by Roy Lancaster who was to give a talk later ,another talk was given by Bob Flowerdew , There were various specialist stands plus some arts and crafts .
We bought two plants there … yes .. only two .a Tricyrtis Formosano Stolonifera and a Molinia Transparent ( a lovely tall feathery grass )
Sunday we went to Urban Jungle , I wanted to see Noseypotters tree man sculpture , I wasn,t disappointed.., it,s brilliant .
much to our surprise everything was half price in a sale , it,s the most fantastic place ,the plants are huge , I,ve never seen such big plants ,it is like a jungle , they specialize in tree ferns ,cannas huge bamboos ,bannana trees all sorts of wierd and wonderful plants , again we bought two plants a Canna " Durban"and Hedychium ( Ginger ) it,s tall and it,s extremely hardy .
All we have to do now is decide where to plant them .
And maybe go back BEFORE THE SALE ENDS .

You had two nice days out Amy. I remember Roy Lancaster had a series of gardening programmes some years ago . I can't remember the name now but I taped a lot of them. Oh yes - Garedn Club it was called. I remember now. They were interesting.
Did you take any photos ?
