There’s something very special about this wood, the information board at the entrance tells of Bluebells / Rare Wild Lily -of -the -Valley also Purple Orchids, this was the first time we had been there at just the ‘right time’ to see the stunning display ..

First to come the Bluebells ,what a wonderfull sight

We were on the look out for the Lilly of the Valley next but with there being so many Bluebells we didn’t think we would see any but much further on we came across them , I,ve never seen so many growing wild before

We knew by the smell what was coming next Wild Garlic as far as the eye could see .

We could smell this all the way home , after that we saw the Purple Orchid up a side drift also some Golden Dead Nettle

Back through the Bluebells into the real world

Amy that was heavenly, we have a bluebell wood about 5mins from us where bluebells and wild garlic grow but have never seen a wild orchid there or lilly of the valley.
There`s nothing quite like a roam in the woods is there.

You would need your own wood to grow wild Garlic Dd , I do grow a few of the domesic variety for cooking plus it is said to keep green fly of the roses , i'm not sure of that's true :o)

Lovely bluebell woods. When I was a boy I used to fish the river Stour at 'Dudsbury' in Dorset. The woods were full of them this time of year. Your photos take me back more years than I care to remember....

Thanks San , we are lucky in that we have many woods like this in Norfolk .. Did you have a good holiday ?

11 May, 2011

im glad tony liked his kiss lol . an slr camera has know delay like most normal digital cameras so the picture is instant . it means you get the picture you see as aposed to the wind blowing it and spoiling the picture or making it blurey. you will get much better results . credit wear it is due you realy have a gift for close up photography . i wouldnt just scratch wear you itch as its not in my nature thow im not rude enough to say to someone unless they ask that there pictures are rubbish so the credit rightfully goes all to you amy . see you soon and possibly with killen xxx .
