Hello everyone I’m back from having a fabulous holiday in France despite the odd disaster like the Ferry being cancelled at Cherbourg at the very last minute then missing the one to Caen , finally catching the one to St .Malo …LOL….
After the first week our Indicators decided to stop working and just to finish things off our mobile phone charger broke ! it’s amazing how isolated you feel in a strange country without any means of communication … They do say things happen in threes ….
Anyway I thought you might like to see a few French garden implements and roundabouts ..

They have a very bizarre way of gardening with Bicycles out there ……

this roundabout was near a school

this shack and wood shed was right in the middle of a very busy crossroads

Vegetable plot being tended

this wasn’t on a roundabout but was very pretty ,,,,

Lastly one or two Locals …….

Cheers …..

Loved the blog Amy, pleased you had a good time despite the disasters and pleased to see you home. The roundabouts are very interesting and colourful but I might be distracted from driving looking at them lol

Glad you enjoyed your holiday in spite of the mishaps, Amy, welcome back :)
Wouldn't it be great if some of our roundabouts were a bit more interesting instead of being so mundane? One near us has a bridge on it - not sure why!! I love 'the traditional French man' :)

I liked the blue bike Drc ... ..

I was in danger of getting run over trying to get decent photos Carole ...:o)

Thanks Gee , it would be nice if they did more with our roundabouts maybe the bridge was donated by someone who didn't want it anymore ! the Frenchman was funny he made one little boy hide under his mummy's skirt because he was wriggling his eyebrows at him ...

Thanks Dawn it's nice to be back even though the garden needs a lot of work doing on it .. :o)

Thanks Yorkshire I'm pleased you liked them , I have so many photos it was difficult to know which few to choose ..

Thanks Skillen I was sorry to have missed you down in Norfolk . :o)

Lovely blog Amy love the bikes they are great perhaps they are trying to say they are enviormentally friendly especially to the plants. Glad all turned out well in the end for you. I see its just as clean there as when I went in the early 80s, no litter on the streets so clean, makes our England look like a slum.

Welcome back, dont you just love those roundabouts, and as you say so clean, we always have a problem looking for plants to bring back, even the ones on the markets cost a fortune, we go soon, looking forward to it, youngest daughter looking after garden, last year it rained the whole time we were away (so lucky!!) dont want to lose any plants now what with opening the garden....how is your garden looking? three weeks is a long time to be away........

That was a worry Janey we had somewhere booked to stay when we reached Cherbourg we didn't when we arrived in St Malo ! the children were taking part in a Fete but the bikes were everywhere we went in Brittany ......

It's nice to be back Linda , I wonder why we so look forward to going and then are pleased to be back ? :o)

I hope you have a lovely time Dd , Try not to eat to many of those delicious pastrys .. Yummy !! it was very hot when we were there even on cloudy days it was muggy , our garden looked like a jungle when we came back everything has grown so much we had someone in to water the pots and mow the lawn but that looks brown from lack of rain ! good luck with your open garden day, when is it ? I've lost track of things .....I'm sure it will be a huge success ..

We stayed in two separate areas Sandra to see as much as we could , the first place we stayed in was near Concarneau a fortified medieval town ,surrounded by water the whole of the old town is contained inside the walls you had to cross a bridge to go inside The second place was at Comberg nearer to Dinan a lovely old place beautiful old timbered houses .....
I did put some pics. of roundabouts on last year Mushy , I love them , I'm always surprised that they are so well kept and not vandalised ! I'm sure they would be here ..
Thanks Holly I'm glad you liked them ...:o)
Ah Thanks Jane / Ray I tried to get a photo of an Egret for you , there were some huge fish swimming in the sea I've no idea what they were but the Egret was trying to catch one , I only managed to get a murky hazy one , I wouldn't dare show it to someone with such experienced photography as yourselves ...LOL..
