Lost Garden --almost

On friday evening we visited some friends who took us to see a neighbours garden ,what a surprise ,it was almost a miniature Lost Gardens of Heligan,
It belonged to an old gentleman of 93 , who we didn,t see ,
It was almost completely overgrown , it had the most fantastic 17th century crinkle-crankle wall ,it must have been 100mtrs long , covered in ivy and hidden with other overgrown shrubs , a wonderful old mulberry tree ,
My friend was using the old greenhouse to grow tomatoes ,she had put a perspex roof on to keep out the rain ,
My fingers were itching to uncover things to see what was there ,
maybe one day it will be returned to it,s full glory , lets hope so ,

Were you tempted to offer? I know exactly what you mean by 'itchy fingers' - I get these in friends' gardens who are not gardeners. I long to uncover what could be beautiful plants! It sounds like a very big area - someone some day will perhaps restore it! I do hope so.
