My Prunus Campanulata Taiwan Cherry Tree has been saved thanks to the advice given to me by Dr Bob … this is what it looked like when I asked for advice on the Questions page all yukky and bleeding gunge …

It was treated in the manner that he suggested this is what it looks like today

Thank you so much for your help Dr Bob , I thought you would like to see how it had survived …

Wow what a difference, isn't this website great?

17 May, 2010

Well done Amy, it looks brilliant. So glad I was able to help. To help your tree further, mulch round the base with a thick layer of compost. It will also pay to wrap the trunk in a piece of hessian, lightly tied. Keep it damp on hot sunny days. Thank you for your very kind words.

Have you and Jim been making plans for your hanging plant garden like the one at Urban Jungle ? bye for now xx

hello yes it was wonderfull amy i realy enjoyed it yesterday and i look forward to see you and showing you my wrens and there nest . i think me and jim are going to do our own living fence and see what each of us come up with . im inclined to ad a bit of sculpture to mine . infact as i have them fence panels from around building sites to use and they dont rust i mite litteraly build like wire and cement open nest looing planters one on top of the other with drainage and include some sculpture in there to . if you imagine like house martin nests but only half built so you can put soil in them.i could have big ones at the bottem and small ones at the yop.wear ever i can bend chicken wire i can have planters.im just mulling it over as realy i wont start till late summer as good thinking now will make for a better living cement fence. i can make the top lighter bye mixing volcanic sand instead of normal sand. this makes the mixed up cement half the normal weight.ill put it behind my triangle planter to and bolt it to it.then the surpless water will go on my acers.theres a lot to think about but i think i could make a brilliant idea last for apserlute years and look a lot better astheticly . maybe less planters .i will obviously keep you informed and like i say any help you need with ya pond dont hesitate to ask.thanx again take care my friend xxx.

Leigh, my ears are burning, but if you give advice to anyone it is all down to them to carry it out correctly, so Amy is to be congratulated on her brilliant result as she worked very hard on her tree.
