Native hedge finally planted!

I have finally got round to planting my native hedge! The weather was just too wet to get started in January so I took my time and went to a plant nursery and got a combination of bare rooted hedging plants and a few more mature potted up plants. Have got Holly, gelder rose, beech, hawthorn, and lots more. I know it doesn’t look much at the moment but I am looking forward to watching them grow and develop to nice hedge attracting lots of wildlife! Have noticed that the worms have started to appear in soil which is also a good sign. Notice the fence panels painted green to blend in with greenery! (ref Andrewr blog on backrounds!)

Thanks Simbad. It was a lot of hard work getting the area plantable after taking the conifers out.

The fence looks good...I'm sure Andrew would approve lol!

The hedge will be well worth all the hard work, I'm sure you'll be rewarded with a very aesthetically pleasing sight as well as offering the wildlife habitat and food. Well done :)

You'll soon be rewarded by visits from our feathered friends, they love a native hedge, you put me to shame, I've had the green paint for my sheds and fences for about 4yrs now, my excuse, I was waiting for my grandson to be old enough to help me, thats my story and I'm sticking to it, yours looks great...
