Our dear friend Ian_digs will not be around for a short while. He had a small stroke on Friday and is in hospital, hopefully home tomorrow. He is of course keeping the nurses on their toes and behaving outrageously!!….which sounds just like our Ian….lol :-)

Get Well Soon Ian…….
xx

23 Mar, 2010

Hello everyone,
This is Carol (Ian's wife) Thank you all for these kind messages. I am sure he will be delighted to read them when he gets home.
As of Wednesday evening he is making good recovery but isn't as strong as he likes to make out he is and is still in the hospital. He had surgery to repair an artery that they think is the cause of his strokes (he has had 3 now).
I will tell him all about your messages when I go to see him tomorrow.
Carol.

24 Mar, 2010

im so sorry to hear this news carol and hope he is soon feeling better, has it affected either side, as in use of limbs, hugs for you both :o)) xx

24 Mar, 2010

Can you believe a taxi turned up with himself still in his pyjamas just after I had written that message? He is sitting in his chair snoring now. Sanbaz he has lost a bit of his movement on his left side but nowhere near as bad as last time.
Carol.

Aw welcome home Ian,hope to hear from you soon :) Has he discharged himself lol. Thanks for the update Carol x

24 Mar, 2010

its awfull and i know what you must be going through carol, my ex had a very bad stroke at 22 and he was left dissabled , no use in left arm and limps, but he is amazing and is now a head social worker, a manager now, even though not with him im very proud of what he achieved, im so glad ian isnt as bad this time and hope he soon gets his left side back to normal, take care xx

24 Mar, 2010

Isn't that just typical of our Ian!!!!!!....hothead.......you just take care old fella and do as Carol tells you......we have missed you xxxx

24 Mar, 2010

welcome home ian but do as you are asked [that means told really :o))]
hope he behaves for you Carol. no doubt Holly will keep him in check too. Hope Holly is ok with his illness too, she must have been worried bless her.

24 Mar, 2010

Ian had a good night last night. He slept like a baby. He has lost some movement down his left side again and isn't as "OK" as he made out to me but I'm sure he will be fine in the long run.
Holly said "Tsk, I bet he just sleeps a lot and snores even louder" I guess she is fine with it?
Carol.

25 Mar, 2010

I'm so sorry to read about Ian's stroke. Rest assured Carol that his strong will and determination will help him get better very very soon. Oh, and tell him that his energy, enthusiasm and his cheery banter is much needed on GOY ....

25 Mar, 2010

Welcome home Ian....take it easy and take care. Do as you're told! x x

25 Mar, 2010

best wishes for a speedy recovery Ian --- put your feet up when you can carol :0)

25 Mar, 2010

carol kids adapt easy and dont worry or get upset like us, my lads didnt even bother they got use to dad as he was, she will be a great help to you both im sure :o) x

25 Mar, 2010

Thank you all again for your kind words, Ian says:-

Terry60, I will be back as soon as I can reliably sit up straight and not dribble on the keyboard.

Pottygardener, Do as I am told? HA! Lol

Pamq, thank you.

Sanbaz, Holly is great and started copying Carol and asking if I need anything.

Your right about kids, I just wish adults could be so understanding. Ian was in the garden getting some fresh air when someone passed by and said "hello" Ian tried to answer but it came out all slurry and they said "fancy being drunk at this time of day" I was livid and said some nasty things to them.
Carol. x

oh my god thats awfull, we had a similar thing with my ex, walking with son to shop and some teens said look at the piss head cause he couldnt walk well, my son shouted at them and was only young, i could cry now thinking of how cruel some can be, chin up all of you, it will all be ok,, life can be a bitch at times,, oops am i surpose to say that on here lol xx

27 Mar, 2010

Sorry late to this news Carol.Just had a similar experience with dad. Sending best wishes to Ian and family.
Sandra..thats okay..and so true.

27 Mar, 2010

yes it is ray x

28 Mar, 2010

Ian looks at this way, "If that is what they are used to seeing (drunks in the morning) then we should feel sorry for them and the way they were brought up". He has a weird way of looking at life but I suppose it's better than being angry all the time?
We are thinking of you Bonkersbon and your dad, please give him our best wishes.
Carol & Ian xx

28 Mar, 2010

Thank you both for your kind wishes. Ray and Jane..xx

Glad to hear you are back home where you belong Ian. I bet those nurses were glad to get rid of you!! Now you'll just be driving poor Carol and Holly to distraction I'm sure. LOL

No, seriously, it is great to hear you are now home safe and sound. I'm sure Carol and Holly are relieved to have you there. Still thinking of you all.

Carol, make sure you take some time for yourself as well.

Gilli and Murray xx
