Just been reading through some of your blogs and thought its time I had a go! So here goes, just taken a few pics (with my brownie of course Dan, lol)
some of the flowers that Dan bought for me last week and a few of my chilli peppers and sweet peppers (or should I say pepper).
Also added some that I took on my way to work one morning last week, at our local seaside resort of Porthcawl. Hope you all like. x

Knew I should have bought that atlas yesterday at the jumble sale...Where is Porthcawl and how do YOU pronounce it?! Hope you have more topsoil for those dahlias, tho the chiles thrive in hot, poor rubble...You are inspiring me. The camera is charging, maybe. You go, girl!

13 Sep, 2009

Thanks Orgratis, Porthcawl (poth-call) thats the nearest i can get to explaining pronounciation sorry :o)
Its in mid glamorgan (south wales) it was a rough day when i took the pics & there is a beach & a fairground there too, really popular in summer.
Glad your feeling inspired just wish i had more time to get another blog done, but not got day off till wednesday but my camera is revved up & ready to go. xx

14 Sep, 2009

Hi again Orgratis, didn't realise you were in the U.S.A, ..
Porthcawl is in South Wales in U.K. its nice to meet you.xx

14 Sep, 2009

Glamorgan: enchanting, eh? So is Porthcawl a cauld port or what? Somewhere my daughter has a Welsh dictionary from her visit there...

15 Sep, 2009

I believe that porth is celtic for bay, cawl is another name for "broth or stew" apparently!
Having just done a bit of research it is thought that the name porthcawl may have been derived from the English for "port of call".
I may look further into it now though, it makes you wonder where most of our place names actually come from. xx

Thanks for checking. Dig into the mystery!
