Seems ages since I was here, too many distractions I guess…. but I couldn’t resist telling you all about Morcambe Bay walk today.

The Leprosy Mission (www.leprosymission.org.uk) are organising their anual sponsored walks accross Morcambe Bay this weekend, with the Queens Guide, to raise funds for this entirely curable desease. Pleased to say, that today alone as we started, it was anounced £8000 was raised which means that 533 people will be cured! And there’s more to come no doubt with sponsorship and a further walk tomorrow.

What a great way to satisfy you curiousity or walking ambitions for this unique area of coastline.

It was amazing to see so many youngsters, and some very senior citizens too, dogs a-plenty, all enjoying the walk. The young ones thoroughly enjoyed frequent lifts on the quad bikes as they explored further afield and we all enjoyed coolin our heals off in the River Kent….. the shorter you are, the cooler you’ll be!!

Check the website, although it’s worth mentioning, the Queens Guide seems to lead other deserving charity walks too.
