micro-blog, raised bed

Dear Gardening Friends,
I’m pleased to say that we’ve managed to build our first raised bed for some veg-growing today, and it’s looking good.
Unfortunately I hammered my finger in the process – oops – so I feel a bit bashed.

Update – Sunday, March 8th.
We added some well rotted manure last weekend…

Well, this weekend’s not been too warm, but we’ve had a few dry spells, and in one of them planted turnips, peas, spinach (2 kinds), white radish root and celeriac. The fennel seed packet says they need planting indoors first, and out later, and the same for the french beans. Apart from fennel and peas, all the other things we’re growing for the first time.
Wouldn’t mind some multi-coloured chard, but sadly I’m the only member of the family who likes eating it. Mind you, it does look so pretty in the garden, so maybe I’ll have it just for show?!

Finger healing slowly. As you can see, I’m still typing! but surprising how many household jobs it can’t do yet because of bruising. I think I was lucky not to break it, & I’m only moaning on here, because the rest of the family offer no sympathy whatsoever. Ah, the curse of the cackhanded gardener!

Oh dear ! I hope your finger isn't too damaged. At least you did finish the job :o)

Obviously a dangerous task! You'll have to wear protective gloves...are there such a thing?? Maybe we need to invent them for you! ;-)
