Brave or bonkers?
Brave or bonkers?

I thought I’d give you all a good laugh.
In June I agreed that my local gardening club, who are a lovely bunch of people, can come and visit our garden this coming Friday as one of 2 or 3 planned to be open on the same evening.
Well, I had started my new job, just, by then, but did my usual of thinking I’ll have enough time to do a million jobs by September, tidying up the garden, and making it a bit more presentable. Hm.
The thing is, the reason I finally decided to say yes and invite them was that the club secretary had a terrible job persuading anyone else to agree – I’ve not been going to their meetings for long. She said that people always say ooh, mine’s not good enough/spectacular enough/finished (!!) or whatever. Yeah right. That was of course my reaction exactly!
I’m sort of on a drive against the must-be-perfect kind of approach, because every garden is so individual and different, and that’s the lovely thing. At this phase in our lives, it has to be “imperfect” because all the family use it and play in it.
Now I have to put my money where my mouth is, swallow my pride etc. Weeds and all, that’s me.
I’ll let you know how it goes! Wish me luck.
At least I know I can always give them good scones.

When your guests come to see your garden and if you still have weeds, just tell them that your working on cross pollinating weeds to see if you can come up with some new ones :)

To finish off this slightly panicky blog: I've been granted a reprieve cos one of the other open-gardeners says Friday's forecast in the UK is really terrible, torrential rain and storms, so she voted for a new date.
So I'll have to let you know how it went, once it's been and gorn.
Hi-ho, hi-ho... as the 7 shorties said.
Oh no, garden gnomes. Argh, feel another blog theme coming on.

LoL!, Good for you Weeding, you are brave to overcome the feeling that the garden "isnt ready yet" ...a garden is a work in progress meant to be enjoyed and used...if we wait till its "perfect" we miss the joy of sharing our journey and isnt it lovely that you will take some time out to pause with friends and smell the roses!
