Wow great photo, I like the simple fllowers so do the bees.

Ah, this has self seeded in my wild corner, lovely, now I know what it is!

Lovely photo Holly, are alliums easy to grow? Are they sluglicious?

Hi Joey, garden centres and seed companies have something called nematodes which can be watered on and the parasite kills slugs, this can work out expensive if it's a large area. Ryton organic gardens use copper tape round beds and copper rings are available to protect individual plants. They like to hide in the shade behind plastic metal
brick or wood in damp places, check these areas and collect them up.Snails tend to gather together follow their trails home. Turn the soil when dry to expose eggs to dehydration, .or before a hard frost if you get them in your area. They thrive in this wet weather unfortunately.

On question - Slimy pests

How about garden features other than plants?

1 perhaps gardners would like to share their design / plansfor a brick built barbeque?
Or making a fish or wild life pond?
constructing a pergola?
Solar in the garden?

I2 nsect,Pest sand predators, friend or foe?

3 Wildlife in the gardens and making it wildlife friendly?

Thank's that is where I found you all.

They need full sun, and tolerate dry conditions. In my last garden one self-seeded on my rockery in full sun. Having said that in my new garden one is growing in a shady area facing north, it has flowered well each year since we moved in! I shall have to plant some of the seeds in the south facing back garden!

Thank you for all your hard work making this a good gardening site much better than the last I tried.

On blog - More changes

i did the same with the largest garden tubs I could find and the 6 potatoes earthed up grew rapidly and look very healthy, now way above the pots, the disadvantage is that
I will have to tip them out to harvest. I have tried heritage varieties for flavour,, and next year will try some early Jersey Royals.

Take some chilled beers and invitethem to join you. They will have fun and want to come again. Make it fun.
