Shop carefully for your seeds, save seeds, swop seeds.
check out this link http://www.earthportals.com/free.html
I have also been saving seeds from local food sources, eg I have loads of pumpkin seeds saved from a huge local pumpkin
bought for the grandchildren, and squash, plus other things etc
I will be listing what I have spare soon in the seed exchange here. I saved the pumpkin seeds by drying them between two layers of kitchen paper. a bit late I realised if spaced ready for planting in seed trays it would save work thinning. Much cheaper and many more seeds than the inflated price of F1 seeds and many of those fail.
