Today is the day for rescuing ex Battery Hens

We are just about to leave off for picking up 20 ex battery hens from the Little Hen Rescue centre in Norwich.

Their new home is all spruced up and ready for them. their run is our mini orchard which has a Conference pear, Victoria Plum, Braeburn Apple, Bramley apple and Stella Cherry trees. Paul will be making them a dust bath where we will sprinkle the mite powder, that way, when they get used to being a proper lady hen, they will dust themselves.

I will take some photos tomorrow and upload them. Sorry havent been here for a while, work, home and family is very hectic, plus our veg plot has come on leaps and bounds, Paul has finished building the raised borders with frames so they are all netted and Ive been transplanting much of the veg I started off inside. (Photos of that coming soon as weel)

I am also on Facebook if any of you want to be my friend there :-)

Back soon. Happy gardening.

The hens will think its Christmas and their birthday all rolled into one. How wonderful it will be for them in your lovely orchard and having your loving care after the previous life :) Looking forward to seeing the new photos.
