Thank you very very much, all of you. Tis a rather difficult time at the mo' and I truly and gratefully appreciate all your kind thoughts and wishes.

Marguerite, my father was from Sicily and my mother was from near Rome. They both emigrated (separately) after the war and met and got married in UK (where they are now resting in peace together) and my sister and I were both born and grew up in UK. She and family are still living there, whereas I moved to Rome in the early 70's (with of course my summer retreat that we bought in the 80's). My recently posted photos of Sicily were because I went there this summer to visit my father's family, whom I hadn't seen for over 7 years ..... not having grown up with them, I sometimes feel rather estranged to them and felt I needed to lessen the emotional distance between us .... sorry for the confusion !!

Terry, in difficult times, where better than GOY? That's what I've found in 2008, which I shall be glad to see the back of. (Bad English - tut tut!)
