$94.00 Potted Plant Tip

I recently enrolled into a course at the college. I thought it was four evenings, as it was listed as Thursdays, 6-9, for a total of 12 hours. it’s title contained “Secrets of Landscape Design”. Well, the secret was, the course was actually only one evening, and contained very little secrets, other then a print out of googled information on what things such as “deciduous” means.
Anyways (enough complaining) I did walk away with a tip which I’d love to share, and the more I share it, the less ripped off of $94.00 I feel.
When making a moss hanging basket, or planting a planter or pot, cut open a disposable baby diaper, and line the bottom of the pot with it. This retains A LOT of moisture in your pot and a great idea if you are away often in the summer.

Thanks for letting me share, my goal is to have 94 people benefit from this secret (tell a friend)

You have every right to be a little upset Tammie (I'm sure I would have been too) sadly it's just another case of how easy one can be ripped off and it appears everyone is only after your money! Sooo not fair. :o( Hel.xxx.

Dont get me started Tammielee on Garden designers!
Its probably worse here beautiful plans lots of chat but will they plant them?
Work as a gardener - designer drew a beautiful border and four shrubs to plant cost £250 ( $500 ) I had to dig border remove all turf and plant the shrubs for an hourly rate.
Any consolation if you were here probably cost you $940 !
so think of it as money saved.

Right another one to add to your $94 - great tip and I'll spread it around! My best tip on hanging baskets is once you've planted them up is to not put them up at once, but to keep them raised on pots or hung through canes in a sheltered place, seems to make such a difference to the young plants to get established out of the drying winds.

Hanging baskets everywhere are going to be looking splendid this year thanks to GoY tips.
My home-planted hanging baskets are usually put to shame by my next-door neighbours ( they are so good they must be shop-bought). Thanks to Majeekahead, Robertr and Tammielee's tips I hope to equal their display, if not out do it, this year! :-)
Can't wait to see the expression on my family's faces when they see disposable nappies in the grocery shopping this week ;-) he he

Bonkers! No! Not used diapers! LOL
Yes, I can't wait to buy my diapers, I'm buying a new born pack so I can get the full experience out of my husbands expression!

Hi Tammielee, sounds like something a community college would do. Am I right? We have these "offerings" at the local college... Just a big waste of time and money...you can find more good info and make more friends on goY. If you're on facebook there are a number of sites on my area group pages.(Ottawa) You could even start one yourself for gardeners in your area.Maybe you will even hear from some others who took the same course. lol .
Some courses are carefully disguised ego boosters or one-upmanship competitions...but there are others with creators who honestly care about their members and tend their sites conscientiously. goY is the best I've found. There are a number of us who are from N. America on goY. Welcome...nice to see a fellow Cdn.
Cheers!
