Yep. My Thumb is DEFINITELY NOT GREEN

Posted on 26 Jun, 2008 5 comments

My garden is slowly dying … one plant at a time. ... Except for Guvnah. He’s doing quite well. :) Christina seems to be hanging in there, too.

But I know many of you gave me suggestions for helping my peace lillies Big Brother, Wally, and Big Momma. Shortly after I asked my questions, I went through some emotional trauma that I am still getting over (broke up with my boyfriend of nearly five years), and I simply didn’t care for my plants. These two plants along with Tarri (one of my begonias), Sku (lucky bamboo), and Gustavo (Boston fern) were already in crisis, and my neglect obviously did not help. They all died pretty quickly. My soldier plants, though, seem to being doing fine.

I have found a problem with Hugh, my moonlight cactus; and I will ask a question about him tomorrow when I have some pictures to show you what I’m seeing! >.<

My thumb is definitely not a natural green. I’m glad that I have you all to help me with it, though! My mom is the one I get my poor gardening skills from, and she’s the one who keeps wanting to give me advice! lol

Sorry you are going through difficult times. Don't give up on gardening, Taffy, it does help in times of stress and trauma. Ask for advice, too. There is always someone who will be able to help. Try to keep your chin up and eyes down on your plants! (Do both and you will quite possibly fall over...LOL)

My daughter would tell you many stories about recieving 'kindly advice' from me on her houseplants, the dearly departed, now when something declines she simply brings it to me and tells me just to finish it off quickly...
