I’ve been wandering around Herefordshire with my camera this month taking lots of pictures of the countryside and I thought I’d just share a few of them with you…

River Wye at Symonds Yat

Queenswood Country Park

River Wye at Ross-on-Wye

Oil Seed Rape crop

Westwood (Forestry Commission)

Someone I met along the way.

Wild Aquilegias.

And back by the River Wye….

Red Campion and Cow Parsley.

Found two of these weird blue bugs…….

Well, I hope you enjoyed exploring the Herefordshire countryside with me :-)

Thanks for the lovely comments folks - glad you enjoyed my snaps :-) The one of the oil seed rape field, I had been looking at the field on my way to work each day and just decided to pull over one day and take a photo lol The others are on my regular walks - it's such a lovely time of year and I think this year there are more wildflowers than ever before!

Well, you've nearly (I stress the word 'nearly') made me want to get off my chair and go for a walk, lol.

Lovely pics, Sid. Especially the blue bug. :o) I think there's summat wrong with me as I'd rather look at bugs than flowers, ha, ha.

Glad you enjoyed my pics Llew :-) I like bugs AND flowers.....so long as they're not found in too close an association in my garden lol

Hmmm...just been looking at weevil pics on the web (well, how else is one to spend ones evening?) and apparently my blue veevil is called the 'Green Nettle Weevil' and appears green under artificial lights and blue under a blue sky. It's host plant is stinging nettles and it's pretty common. So there. Now we all know. ;-)

I lived there for a year when I was 14 , my father had to move there for his work , I went to what was then Bluecoat girls school ...no longer there , when we moved again my older brother stayed in Hereford and married a girl , he died 7 years ago his 3 grown-up children still live in Hereford so we visit occasionlly when we can .....
I love walking over Victoria bridge the way I use to go to school.

We did the rounds last year we stopped in Hereford and then went on to Wales to visit my hubby's sister we also called in to see Hywel as he lives just up the road from Tony's sister ..

My mum went to Bluecoat school! You must have lived near to where I live now if you walked to school over the Vicky Bridge :-)
