Cycled to Ardchattan Priory Gardens

By Scotkat

We cycled from the camp site on Thursday to visit what I thought was bigger gardens but only the front garden can you visit.

We were priviliged to chat to a gardener there who told us to keep cycling to a junction turn left and go up a very long steep hill which we did at one point I had to push then it got ever so humid hubby pushed mine to the top then the view at the top where we stopped for our lunch was stunning.

Fabulous view! I know that plant, but cant recall the name. Give me a it Mexican Fire Bush or something like that? I'll just check...No...I think it is Chilean Firebush. Embothrium coccineum. Suitable only for the West and south of the UK. I have seen it somewhere in Scotland, but cant remember where.
