Another lovely sunny morning

By Scotkat

Its is windy but nevertheless its great to see here we are 11th April already and had a great spell of weather.

Everything is looking lush in garden .

Had a fantastic week of cycling to.

I have also notice that I may have Karen Gray Peony Rose from Binnys starting to grow now.

As its been a few yrs since I planted it.

After watching Gardeners world last night Monty did say not to plant them to deep which I may have done.

We always learn something new.

Hi Kath, yes I always plant them so that you can see the tuber, about a quarter of an inch above the soil, I have moved mine several times, and divided them, they never fail to flower the next year planted like this, they need to be cold to encourage flowering, Derek.

I love peonies, my Sarah Bernhardt grows beautifully.

I am glad to hear yours respond well to being divided and moved, Derek. It used to be said that they hated to be moved, but perhaps that was because they were often replanted too deep.
