Assesing of what grows best in my garden

By Scotkat

Just been for a wonder in my garden and adding twine in to clematis.

And noticed all the rhodies grow well in my garden and do have space for 2 more .

And that Montanas have come through the winter best in my garden.

I have other clematis but they are very slow and the growth on the Montanas are growing ever so fast .

I shall be replacing another corner with Montanaas.

I will post photos later.

As its been a long cold winter there has been some damage and need to replace.

I love to wander round the garden and plan changes, nothing stays the same for too long. I do tend to grow several varieties of any plant that does really well too, I think it's best to go with what suits your soil. Hope you enjoy buying some new Rhodies and Montanas!:)

I think noticing what does well in the garden is a key element for success. When I started gardening, I split and replanted loads of sedum spectabile because it thrived. I have more confidence now and try out new things, but I still think sticking with what grows well definitely provides a good backbone to the planting. Clematis montana is certainly one of those plants. And aren't they pretty?

Yes they are ever so pretty Mel.

My garden will soon be how I want it and new project will soon be finished apart from all the new planting.

Then I shall do the before and after blog but not untill all finished .

I have been taking photos.

Louise I never got my Rhodie as could not see a white one.
